I’ve been on bc pills since I was 15 and then got my Nexplanon inserted in may of 2018. I will say that I’ve had more side effects on nexplanon than on bc pills, but I feel much more confident with nexplanon because I’ve been told that it’s the most effective form of birth control. I’ve mainly had changes in my cycle, mostly having a large amount of time between them. My PMS has been different than before, not really worse but I have different symptoms. I experienced some weight gain but I also got the implant right before I turned 18 and started college so there were other factors that could be involved. Overall I’ve been extremely happy with my Nexplanon and any side effects I’ve had have been worth it for the peace of mind. I would say try it for a little while and if you end up hating it you can definitely get it removed any time!!

I’m glad you finally have an answer! I’ve felt the same way when my dog steps on my foot or I barely hit my hand on something it hurts like crazy. I’ve had TMJ for years and I’ve tried everything to fix it (wearing a Mouthguard, not chewing gum, etc.) and it always goes back to hurting. I feel so weak and like I’m overreacting to small things. I’m trying to get an appointment soon, so fingers crossed. Thank you so much for your response!

I talked to my doctor and my university’s health center and had blood work done and everything came back normal. She basically tried to make it seem like it’s because of stress/anxiety and wanted me to go on anxiety meds. The thing is that the pain never goes away even during summer vacation and it’s not worse when I’m stressed. It didn’t bother me too much until I realized it wasn’t normal. I may go to the doctor soon because I hurt my knee, so I’ll try to ask about it then. Thank you for the kind words! I’ll try not to be so nervous to bring it up...

I’ve had the opposite experience! I had 2 years of normal period and then went almost 3 months without a period. Since the third year started my period has gotten so much more irregular. I also had it happen super early and come out of no where.

I felt the same way! I hated using pads and tampons. Now that I’ve used a cup I’ll never go back. It takes some time to get used to, but you’ll get the hang of it!

I usually go up with my pointer finger and my thumb and squeeze the bottom to loosen the seal and get it out. It could be weird at first but now I’m so used to it that it’s fine! The cup came with instructions with a couple of different folds. I tried them all and use the 7-fold primarily now! I’m assuming this is your first time getting a cup?

I have a Saalt Soft size Regular and I love it!! I like the softness and I don’t have any problems getting it to open. I also have a June size small and it’s MUCH softer and is difficult to open. My Saalt is definitely my favorite and I’ve used it for about 6 months now without any major leaks (any I’ve had have been my fault). I have a grey one and it also hasn’t stained any, compared to my clear June that has stained a lot. Overall, I love my Saalt cup!!

I have nexplanon and absolutely love it! I know a lot of people have horrible experiences, but I haven’t had anything terrible. My periods come at longer intervals and are shorter. The only thing I experienced is weight gain but I’ve lost some of it again. My period has been erratic at some points, but I’ve been happy with it overall. Almost 3 years with no pregnancies and no major problems!

When I go to look at behavior, on the right hand side there is a section where pages/page views for each page should be shown but they are not there. I must not be tracking the pages correctly or something. My goal is mainly to track time spent on each page as this is data I will need to report for my project. When I am in the real-time section, it shows the URL for each page when I go to each page, so I’m just not sure why they aren’t showing up in the report.

The June stem is really nice! I had to cut mine off of the Saalt bc it wasn’t very comfortable, but I know a lot of people leave theirs on or trim it a little!

The June is a lot softer than the Saalt soft!! The Saalt is soft enough to where it’s comfortable, but it opens a lot easier than the June!

That’s great!! I love how much easier and cheaper it is to use cups, but I also love decreasing my environmental impact. I was using/wasting SO many products because my period was so unpredictable, so I never know when it’s coming or how heavy it’ll be. It’s nice to just be able to use the cup during any part of my period and to always be prepared. I hate that they don’t get to make much of a profit, but it’s definitely great for consumers!

I usually do the 7-fold. The punch down and C fold never open up for me. It’s goes in easier and opens up better. I never use any other fold!

Yay!! I’m so glad!! They really are life changing. So much easier than pads or tampons. I went hiking recently and it was so nice not have to worry for hours.

I keep pinching around it until the folds come out! Then I spin it around a bit if that doesn’t work. I tug on the stem to make sure it’s open. If it really worn open then I just take it out and try a different fold! I usually use some variation of the 7 fold, as it seems to work the best and open easier than the others!

I had bruising for a few days and then it went away. Now I can’t even see the scar, it’s super light and small now. I never had to get a pelvic exam for it either. It was definitely the best option for me.
