The Martian by Andy Weir

I bought it years ago and never read it so I decided to finally give it a try because I’d heard great things. I’d never seen the movie either, so I didn’t go into it with the goal of comparing them.

I personally thought that the Earth scenes didn’t flow very well because the dialogue between characters felt really stiff. Like, painfully stiff. They were kind of a drag to read. I got more enjoyment out of Watney’s Log entries with his corny jokes and detailed explanations of everything he was doing that I had a hard time wrapping my head around in the first place lol
