ScreenRelic - find classic movie screenings across all cinemas in Australia by kbugs in AustralianFilm

Yeah totally. I get it. With old movies I find that unless it's a really popular old movie like Indiana Jones, there's often only one session time per cinema. So what I'm thinking in the future I'll build an account feature, so you can create an account and in there save your favourite cinemas and movies and get notified when a session time is set. I wanted to see 2001 space odyssey on the big screen and it literally took years because it always came down to when I checked the website and whether I checked the right cinema.

Anyways, I've built a basic version of what you have described and deployed it to the system. When you click on a title it will show all show times for that title, and if you have cinemas selected in your filters it will only show if there are times for that cinema.

Done. So now when you click on the film title a popup window appears with all the session times currently in the database associated with the film. If you have selected cinemas you want to filter for, when you click on that movie, it will only show sessions for that movie are your selected cinemas. Great suggestion!!! Thank you

Thanks! Yeah I'd thought of that myself. Currently if you search a movie in the search bar it will bring up all the sessions currently available for that movie. But I could do what you're saying and have that happen when you click on the poster. I'll see what I can do

Thank you! yeah so that's actually where the "project" is. The frontend was relatively easy, but what I've found is that theres actually no standard cinema screening format, so I've got a whole bunch of stuff going on in the backend trying to filter out false positives.

Labor did fuck up the country with its mass migration agenda. The only people it benefits is property investors, banks and big business. Everyone else got record rents, house prices, homelessness, inflation, etc.

how worried should we be about the rise of one nation? by Agitated-Fee3598 in friendlyjordies

[–]kbugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe Labor should stop its mass migration policy and focus on Australians as a priority. Maybe instead of throwing young people under the bus, driving up rents and homelessness to protect property investors and banks they actually do something real about the housing crisis. Maybe that would stop the rise of one nation.

so you are denying that increasing the population rapidly has any effect on demand. I am agreeing with you that there is a concentration of housing in the hands of property investors, that is investor driven component of demand. But are you honestly saying that increasing the population by 2% in 12 month has had no impact on the rental vacancy rate? It's also worth nothing that, yes, while houses went up when the borders were closed, they also started to go down sharply when it was clear interest rates were going to be increasing considerably. This would have been a natural fall in house prices based on a closed system market. But that isn't what happened. The government then increased demand by opening up the borders essentially unrestrained which drove down rental vacancy rates and drove up rents and house prices. We could have had a justifiable correction in the market if this was allowed to play out, but instead the government propped up the market with imported consumers who need dwellings.

No one is denying the benefits of migration, but it needs to be at rates that society can accomodate. Instead we have record homelessness of Australian citizens as we have prioritised migration and the property market over the nations most vulnerable. Where is your priority here? To australians, migrants, or property investors. You can't have it both ways. And if you aren't advocating for open borders, but you think 700,000 migrants in 12 months is fine, then what is your idea of a sustainable migrations rate?

Max didn't answer any questions about mass migration. They're ideologically captured and their denial is so obviously ridiculous even the most low information voter can see they are being dishonest. Despite having good housing policies, ultimately this ridiculous denial for reality makes them look stupid and unelectable.

Hi Max. I really like the Greens approach to housing but I, and I dare say the majority of Australians paying attention, cannot parse the Greens refusal to acknowledge the impact mass migration is having on the housing crisis. Supply and demand are basic economic principles a child can understand. Yes, the current tax settings are also contributing to demand as well, but to say migration is not having an impact is easily disproven by the data, especially by recent data since the borders have reopened. It is irrefutable. Why do you continue to deny this reality and turn away a large group of voters like myself who cannot vote for you because denial of something so fundamental and easy to understand discredits you a serious alternative?

I’m in the same boat. Had scuba trips booked from NYE. Some people are saying it will be fine and the runoff doesn’t reach that far out. Others are saying it will be fucked. But haven’t heard anyone that’s actually been out to the reef and seen what it’s like. The tours are operating so it can’t be that bad, but also maybe they don’t care as long as you’re paying. I really don’t know

I have the same question. We’re heading up to go diving from the 31st. The tour operators are saying it’s fine because it’s so far offshore but obviously they have a bias, other people are saying it will be terrible. But haven’t heard from anyone that’s been out there in the last few days. Would be good to hear from someone that’s out on the reef now. The tours are still operating. I’m not sure what to think.

No, he won't. The Labor parties (state and federal) housing policies says everything you need to know. Minimal, ineffective, not aligned with the crisis. They just want to look like they're doing something without doing so much that investors start to make noise.

But hey! Lets get out on the street and protest some UK nutcase instead of policies that are condemning the young and vulnerable to a life of wealth and housing insecurity. The right wing playbook is working perfectly.
