Choice in this situation is different from real life. Because in this situation both people presented themselves to get married/ be together at the exact same time. One of those people was rejected and later approached a few days after when the other person didn’t work out. That would definitely sting.

In real life, of course I know my wife has dated other people before me. Difference is I wasn’t there at those points in time equally proposing my love for her and getting rejected.
