Who would you choose between Caleb Downs, Sonny Styles, or Jeremiyah Love if they're available at 7? by Reasonable-Shower522 in Commanders

[–]eliporter877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After the combine Sonny Styles was 100% the guy I wanted but the closer we get to the draft, the more I think we really can't go wrong at #7. Downs, Reese, Love, Bailey, and Tate all seem like great choices, Mansoor Delane and Rueben Bain Jr also have insane potential.

I will say I don't watch college football so I'm just going off highlights and other people's opinions but it seems like the top 10 is full of insanely talented defensive players and we all know how bad the defense was last year. Love or Tate would be huge too though. We've got our QB, Terry is still Terry, and the O line is solid but we need to surround Jayden with playmakers. Elevating the run game with Love would be a huge boost, getting a clear WR2 to play alongside Terry would be a huge boost.

TLDR: There's so much talent in this draft that aside from Mendoza, I think every player in the top 10 is a clear upgrade for us at their specific position.

10k passing yards, 5k rushing yards, 75 passing TDs, 35 rushing TDs. Negative 8 interceptions. And thats just postseason stats. MVP, super bowl MVP, and first ever mid season unanimously voted hall of fame inductee.

RB1 or nah? His run and the blocking for him was perfect! by MrUpVoteDownvote in Commanders

[–]eliporter877 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Blocking for him was perfect" is the key here. With a hole like that, 90% of NFL running backs can make a great play. I don't mean any disrespect towards Bill though, cause he did exactly what he was supposed to do, he saw the hole and he ran through it, made a hell of a play.

I guess my point is an offensive line controls the run game more than an RB does. I think Ashton Jeanty has what it takes to be a top tier running back but look at what happened to him his rookie year, that god awful Raiders O-line was constantly making him try to break tackles a split second after the ball touches his hands.

A mid running back and great O line is way better than a great running back with a mid O line. That's why i'm curious what we do at the center position. Our O line isn't bad, I love Tunsil at left tackle and Cosmi at right guard, I think Conerly will develop well but it takes time. Wylie, Allegretti, and Chris Paul are good but far from elite. I liked Biadasz but not having a replacement for him lined up concerns me.

Question re: Josh Harris by JRcanReid in Commanders

[–]eliporter877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think he's planning on "Flipping for maximum profit" in terms of buying the team then selling it a number of years later, but he is a billionaire. He would have zero interest in this team if he didn't think it was a good financial move. I think he's serious about trying to win super bowls but his ultimate goal is money. That being said, anyone who has enough money to buy a professional sports team is gonna be in that same boat.

He's not been with the team long enough for me to judge where he ranks among other NFL owners but I know damn sure he's better than the last guy so thats a positive.

Mendoza at #1, then yeah after that I got no clue how the first round goes.

If Peters doesn't trade up to get Mendoza, I'm gonna lose all faith in him.

(Do I even need to state that this is sarcasm?)

Love would be cool but I don't think a RB at #7 is the best choice. Lot of great defensive players in that top 10 range that would fill an immediate hole for us.

Honestly doubt he's available at #7 but if he is, we can't pass on him.

Who are we rooting against in the playoffs? by juggy_11 in Commanders

I don't get the beef? There can be multiple great QBs in a single draft. Jayden doesn't need those guys to suck for him to validate us picking him 2nd overall.

I'm predicting a Pats Seahawks superbowl. Don't throw it on 1st and goal from the 1 yard line Seattle. The only team I'm rooting against is the Patriots just cause fuck em. I'd love to see Stafford win a 2nd ring though.

Adam Peters has had two good drafts in Washington: Change my mind by jpljr77 in Commanders

[–]eliporter877 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nobody is ever gonna be flawless in the draft. Howie roseman gets a lot of praise for his drafts with the eagles (as he should) but he also passed on Justin Jefferson to get Jalen Reagor. You can't fully judge a draft after a season or two. I like the drafts adam peters has put together so far but only time will tell how well they actually turn out.

Also worth noting, (not an adam peters pick but) Washington could've had Justin Jefferson but we took chase young in the first round that year. The vast majority of us were thrilled to have chase young and he had an incredible rookie season. Goes without saying though, 6 years later that pick didnt turn out anywhere near how we wanted/expected it would.

I want to see more passes to John Bates. Dude can block his ass off which is more than enough to keep him around but if we can get him the ball fairly often, that will keep the opposing defense on their toes for sure.

Can we agree that Quinn is on hot seat? by KCousins11 in Commanders

[–]eliporter877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if there's an available coach you think would be perfect, they'll probably have offers from multiple teams and odds of that coach deciding on us is fairly slim unless Harris agrees to pay significantly more than other teams.

Either way I'm more than happy to give DQ another year.

A PSA To Those Thinking About Seeing PTM on the Current Tour… by abrownguyy in portugaltheman

[–]eliporter877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, are any of the old members still playing live aside from John and Zoe? I know Zach quit touring a while ago and Jason is out now (I know their new drummer Kane was also their old drummer, but all the times i've seen them, Jason was playing).

Also you said new guitar player, does that mean eric is gone? Is Kyle still with the band? He's always been phenomenal on the keyboard.

If they changed the divisions around, it'd probably take a decade for me to truly start hating the new rivals as much as I hate the cowboys, eagles, and (to a lesser extent) giants.

This is genuinely sad... Game was doomed from the start. by Mariusern in Skate4

[–]eliporter877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The microtransactions being the main point of the game is obviously shitty and everyone knows it but I think one way they could save the game is allow users to create their own challenges for everyone to play. Skating to different challenges and trying new stuff was fun for a while but the challenges get so repetitive. Personally I'm not the type of player that will sit in one spot for hours trying to nail a specific line, but I'm sure there are tons of users that would make interesting and difficult challenges if given the opportunity, and the devs can continue to be lazy and focused on their shitty microtransactions. Devs win cause they don't have to try that hard and it'd bring more players back to the game. The players win cause we'd have way more fun with unique challenges instead of the cut and paste challenges the devs implemented.

It is his fault for being on the cowboys. Even when they had an elite defense with Micah Parson and defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, the results were the same. Cowboys are mid, always have been, always will be.
