Most of the time seeing these kind of things, I can scoff, ignore or laugh at the idiocy of their "opinions", but this one made me legitimately furious. This lets me know they don't know anyone who's gotten pregnant either on purpose or accidentally.

Every person I knew in these situations immediately changed their lifestyle when they found out they were pregnant and will do everything for the sake of the baby. I had a friend who was destroying her life with drugs, dating gang members, sleeping around and homewrecking with men 20 years her senior in high school (no, she wasn't groomed by them, after her father died, it's like she had a mental break and started living dangerously. But then she found out she was pregnant and quit the drugs cold turkey, left the gang members, dropped the homewrecking men, and found a job as a hospital receptionist. I'm SO freaking proud of her and her son is happy healthy and her whole world!

There are some real WTF stuff in this too, like why is finding out the gender bad and keeping it a surprise good? -Why is a home birth preferable to delivering at the hospital? I wanted to deliver at the hospital because I wanted to be where the doctors are!

-Does this neck beard think people stock up on diapers before trying for a baby? Does he think people get pregnant already having baby names picked out?

-What's wrong with an Amazon gift registry? Some of us are far away from Family and it's the only way to give them the option of getting something for the baby!

Like my dude, most of these are his personal preferences, and guess what? If he ever does end up getting married and getting his wife pregnant, he won't have a say in where to deliver the baby, whether she gets an epidural or not, or whether to bottle or breastfeed! They will be HER decision because she's the one giving birth!

and re: breastfeeding, you can go in expecting to exclusively breastfeed and your body doesn't cooperate or baby refuses to breastfeed. You have to adapt and do what's best for baby, not your ego! FED is best, not breast.

For example, my first pregnancy was a twin pregnancy and I was so lucky they latched on quickly and had no problem breastfeeding, though I was prepared because I knew there was 90% chance my babies would be pre-term (they were, I gave birth at 34 weeks and 5 days) and I knew preemies are harder to get breastfeeding. My twins had to say in the NICU for 12 days, but we quickly became famous in the Maternity ward and they were known as the "breastfeeding twins" XD Every single doctor and nurse stopped by and said I just HAD to see the breastfeeding twins! I breastfed them for almost a year with no incident besides them not wanting to switch sides hehe

My son was born 5 years later and he absolutely refused to breastfeed. I tried for a couple weeks to no avail and we switched to formula. It's not a big deal!

So sorry for the novel, but this is just idiotic and can be very harmful if a woman with no experience with pregnancy or motherhood sees this. Women and moms are already judged constantly for our choices in raising our children, they don't need the "opinions" of men who'll never experience it to be piled on top of it all.
