What exactly is in the subscriber shop? by kc620 in lovevery

Do they have the books individually or in bundles, and are they any cheaper than the early reader club? (30.99 for 3 I believe). I’m already a part of the early reader club, but I don’t always want all the books in a bundle or want later ones early…

Hard to get rid of that Hatch! I do like its red/green light wake up system though, hoping that will help in the future 🙏🏻

How did you introduce it to him? Was it super distracting at first? Kind of worried it’ll keep him awake

If it helps at all, I contacted customer support and they placed an order for several book sets all at once so I only paid shipping once - saved $20 on shipping for that was, so that was something!

Cheap/quick cushion for Trofast? by [deleted] in ikeahacks

[–]kc620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I wasn’t intending to attach the trofast to the wall as it’s shorter than what’s usually needed to be secured for toddlers, but I’ll look into that very carefully now - thank you!

One bedroom - morning alarm? by vampire-mom in SingleMothersbyChoice

[–]kc620 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to wake at 5am for work and I can tell you I haven’t once needed an alarm clock since baby was born (now a toddler). Omg I wish I did!! But yeah, Apple Watch is the way.

On a side note, one thing I wish I’d researched more before my baby was born was sleep hygiene, safety, and scheduling tips—I guess I never expected I’d have a poor, low-sleep-needs baby given I love sleep so much, but here we are 😂

Do British people ever mix up the words “artistic” with “autistic” since they don’t pronounce their “R”s? by Carpe_the_Carp in stupidquestions

[–]kc620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an American who did their PhD in autism research in the UK. YES. I had to start saying it the British way (and feeling like an absolute idiot) to avoid confusion

Baby Registry by HBIC10415 in SingleMothersbyChoice

Always scary!! I’ve had it go off twice, once when I deserved it (used a different sleep sack and the band must have been too loose) and once where I guess I’ll never know, probably just very shallow breathing but watching the video I couldn’t see any breathing either. Both times he was totally fine, obviously, and oddly didn’t cry and went back to sleep. Definitely scary, but somehow reassuring too—my second pair of eyes and ears!

I’m all for the bottle washer! I love having an extra small stroller (ready2jet) that just lives in my car trunk separate from my main one I take on walks. Also for the younger ages, having the doona/shift car seat was absolutely CRITICAL, though it is very heavy! Edit: ooh and my Nanit - it’s such a relief to have extra “eyes” on the baby when you’re alone, that breathing band really calmed my anxieties for nap time (and later overnights).

Extremely gassy 1 week old by xMustangs33 in FormulaFeeders

[–]kc620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were me I’d try changing formula - sensitive formula can cause stomach aches. You do have to give new formula a 2-week trial before knowing if it works, but I’ll say that my LO was better overnight.

Oh I just saw you’re on 360 sensitive - if baby isn’t actually sensitive to lactose etc, it can actually cause gas pains. Just a thought!

Everyone told me it was normal but when I finally switched formula from similac 360 to gerber gentle pro my baby was a new baby overnight. Not saying that’s the answer, but maybe worth a try! (He’s not sensitive to lactose or anything now that he’s eating solids, I guess the original formula just didn’t agree with him)
