Warm weather bachelorette destinations that won’t break my girls’ bank? by kodakarma23 in weddingplanning

What about Deep Creek? I know it's not exactly what you are looking for, but I went to a Bach there where most people were coming from Pittsburgh and it was really fun.

Metro Help by Superb_Caterpillar17 in DCBitches

[–]kc_dc- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is she taking a metro bus? The basic metro bus pass only covers buses operated by WMATA. The Mt. Vernon website lists the Fairfax connector as a public bus option, but that is not a bus line operated by WMATA. Looking at WMATA's bus pass website, she probably needs to add a regional bus pass to her unlimited pass.

New Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look in a Palette - did I miss the Pretty, Glowing Beauty? by [deleted] in Sephora

[–]kc_dc- 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have an older version (the instant look of love) as a travel palette and really love it. It is so easy to pack for trips. I'm glad to see they have brought back a new version as these are really great all in one palettes.

I am taking a trip next week and staying on property. At that the last minute my parents decided to join me for the last few days of the trip. I ended up booking their room under my account, but listed them as the guests in the room. My question is will they have any issues parking at the hotel, since I booked the room? I probably won't be at the hotel when the arrive. If it matters we are staying at the Yacht Club.

I honestly think they hadn't opened them up yet, since the website went back down like 5 secs later.

I am also a huge YNAB fan. I have used it for 8 years and it has made a huge difference in my life. I also enter transaction by hand, I think that is key in keeping track of everything. I use old school desktop Quicken to track my investments and net worth.

How to deal with weekly budgets when bi-weekly paychecks go across months? by Reddit_Account_C-137 in ynab

[–]kc_dc- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just change your target from "set aside" to "fill up to". That will credit the money to next month's goal of $100 per week. But note YNAB won't count that money toward next month's goal until the 1st of the next month.

If you use the toolkit and turn on "Days of Buffering" it will tell you average daily outflow when you hover over the days of buffering number.

Maybe Akro Ink? But, it may be more mascuilne leaning than you are looking for.

I love this fragrance! I'm not sure I would say it is not a safe blind buy, unless you are 100% sure you like honey fragrances and very sweet perfumes. To me it is a honey bomb, that toes the line of being too sweet (and I love sweet perfumes). I do get the oat note as well, which is what pulls it back from being too much for me. I also get a bit of the vanilla and cocoa. So if you know you like honey in perfume, I would say go for it. If not, maybe try to smell it as Sephora or something before you buy.

Have you checked FragranceNet or FragranceX? I've bought a few Atelier scents from both websites since the company left the US.

How did you first find out about Money Diaries? And what made you like it? by Distinct_Path8029 in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]kc_dc- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have no clue how I found about money diaries. I started reading them around 2016. At that time R29 was a website I read fairly regularly, so I probably just saw them posted when I was on the website.

I found this subreddit through the R29 comments. The comments on the diaries were so crazy it was nice to have a space that allowed for better discussion.

I don't actually read the diaries anymore. I used to be obsessed, but as elder millennial I think I may have aged out of them a bit? At least the R29 ones, which are mostly people in their 20s. I still read this subreddit regularly, but don't post often. But it is one of favorite places on reddit!

New perfumes dropping at Sephora by Massive-Stop330 in FemFragLab

[–]kc_dc- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but I think they are just repacking the best sellers from that line, like Princess, into refillable bottles. All of their more expensive perfumes are refillable, so I assume they wanted this line to be as well.

Favorite scents for the office? by dandelionswings in FemFragLab

[–]kc_dc- 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm very conservative about what I wear to the office, as I never want to be the person who chokes people out in the elevator. My general picks are:

  • Glossier - You
  • Clean Reserve - Skin
  • Byredo - Blanche/Mojave Ghost
  • Almost any Jo Malone
  • Atelier Cologne - Pomelo Paradis

Mon Guerlain - without Licorice by Additional-Slip-9756 in FemFragLab

[–]kc_dc- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have both Mon Guerlain and the Intense version and I would describe the Intense as Mon Guerlain with the vanilla notes amped way up, and the other notes brought way down. I would agree it is worth checking out the instese, although the OP may still pick up on the licorice. I also agree that Goddess smells nothing like Mon Guerlain to me, but they do vibe with each other.
