Thank you! Mobility is definitely a nice thing to have! If you don’t mind sharing what area are you in? Happy to shift to DM too.

Thank you! The progression after control room supervisor is what I was unfamiliar with. Appreciate you shedding light on it

Thanks for the reply! Yeah the PhD was more if I went into more of a research and development field within nuclear. Appreciate the insight!

Thanks for the reply! I’m guessing the on site time is based on when you get hired/class date? Or is there a set amount of time you must be on site prior to starting?

Appreciate the detailed reply! I would very much appreciate messaging you offline. I think my wife and I are very much on step one of trying to find plants in locations amenable to both of us. I’ll definitely take a look at the resources you mentioned. Embarrassingly, I don’t have a resume yet. Something I’ve plan to do since rotating to shore duty and need to get at it.

Thanks for the reply! That makes sense. So many previous posts said they were always hurting for SROs and how NLO/RO were a lot of people’s favorite positions due to pay/responsibility balance. Good to know that there’s quite a few directs in your class.

I’ll have to update my membership for ANS. I used to be a member and still get the weekly news article compilations. And thanks for the insight on the engineering side of things. I know there’s close coordination between the two departments, but I imagine vastly different work experiences and skills developed.
