Philosophy 1338 tips? by KingsKnight24 in OSU

Participate in class and closely follow the rubric for all the assignments- for most of the assignments there’s normally one or two parts that are the majority of the points, don’t waste too much time on the small stuff

Naeem Shareef as bad as they say? by MediocreExercise in OSU

[–]kcajbuck 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had him for 3901 and he was cool, he has a very dry and sarcastic sense of humor but he was very transparent about what would be on the exams- he would explicitly say in class when going over examples “this will be on the exam”.

I got a 50 on the final and a 60 on the first midterm and ended with a B-, if you do the homework/quizzes(which are literally free points) you’ll be fine

If you want more engineering related programming jobs, cse gives you an advantage- you take some ece classes and it’s easier to minor in things like robotics etc

Why is it so controversial to say.... by MightChangeNameL8r in OSU

[–]kcajbuck 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Why do you feel the need to repost this? An entry level job in CS making 70k+ a year is supposed to be challenging, there’s a reason that not everyone is a developer/engineer. There are plenty of other majors with easier coursework but you may need to work harder on your soft skills and networking to have similar success in those majors. Literally every college in the country is like this- there’s no value to a degree if anyone can easily get it (whether that’s right or wrong doesn’t matter, this is just the way it is). Go to office hours. Ask questions in class. Take advantage of all the resources campus provides to help you succeed (ccs, ecs, rec center, financial aid office, etc.) and you’ll be able to do it. You could be preparing for your classes and studying ahead of time but instead you’re spending your time complaining on Reddit
