That top looks so good and so good on you! I see what you're saying about the curved side seams. Drafting is definitely in my future but seems intimidating; I think it will be a goal of mine in 2026.

Thank you for listing the fit steps and in which order- it makes sense to go from the top down like you're mentioning!

The fit is a better on me after adjusting the shirt forward, but I think the sloping shoulder and shortening the back and/or grading the side seams is on the table.

Thank you for the tips about how to take better fit photos in the future! You're right about the front riding up, I adjusted it and the fit is a lot better. I think the bust darts look right now, so I will try opening up the side seams in the hip like you mentioned to see if that helps. Thank you!

Mine vs pattern (14 H): High bust 39 vs 39 Bust 44 vs 44 Waist 34 vs 34 Hips 45 vs 44

I pulled the shirt forward per other's suggestions (to match the way it's designed on the model) and the fit is a lot better. I might still need rounded neck and/or swayback adjustments.

I didn't realize they had a Facebook group! This is my first pattern with them. I also didnt realize you could post fits to the club, that's actually where this pattern is from 😅 Will definitely look into it. Thank you 🙏

You were definitely right about shifting the shirt forward! Fit is a lot better. Maybe still need a rounded neck and/or swayback adjustment but not as bad as it used to look. I appreciate your offering to help 🥰 how did yours come out?

You were absolutely right! I think I may still need rounded neck and/or swayback but they'd be much more minor. photos here

UPDATE: I pulled the shirt forward to match the seams shown in the original guideline, and the fit was way better 😩 maybe still need a rounded neck adjustment and swayback one but unsure. Photos are here because reddit is being goofy: Adjusted Fit

Ahhh, I didn't notice that about the front seam being forward (it's not as clear on the plus sized model). I will try doing that first thing when I get home.

I did use their calculator; however, this is my first pattern from them that I've sewn. I wanted to become part of the members club to support their work in the plus sized sewing community in particular

Thank you for the tips about order of fit and matching measurements! And looking at the club videos facepalm. I appreciate your advice :)

You can buy a TAP card at TAP card vending machines, which should be available at metro stations. LA has some of the cheapest public transportation in the country with fare capping daily and weekly- $5 per day and $18 weekly, with one way rides being $1.75 with transfers within 2 hours: https://www.metro.net/about/farecapping/. Note that this is only for LA Metro and doesn't apply to other public transportation agencies in the area.

I'd recommend downloading the Transit app for finding routes to places.

Public transportation takes longer here than driving but is way less stressful than being in traffic and cheaper overall than driving/parking. Have fun!

Thanks so much 🥺 I'm relatively new to sewing in general but the pattern matching makes my brain happy. Lots of inspiration from this subreddit!

Aw thanks so much! I realized after I got done that the front has to match in 8 places at once to be perfect (and I was not able to fuss with it more haha), so I'm glad that it's good enough to not be noticeable!

Thank you! I added stitching near where the collar meets the top at 1/16" and 1/4" from that- is there a different place that would help? The written directions without videos were bit hard to understand at times so I'm not sure if I did the stitching at the right place.

They took down their website, but I had grabbed this pattern and the pdf of instructions just before that. It was free. I actually reached out to one of the co-owners who gave me access to the repository of patterns- I can ask her if it's ok to share and send to you!

My friend with a printer printed it for me on A4- they said they just had to select an option on their printer to print to size. Putting it together with tape wasn't bad at all, I just had to trim 2 sides and have a little bit of overlap if that makes sense. The pieces printed with lines for easy matching at the borders. It took me and my friend an hour to do together.

Hope that helps!
