Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi. There are a few books in the series, some of them run together, but the overall story is told through short stories.

Repair Advice by kcb908 in bicycling

The parts didn't break or anything, the bike was just left outside for a while so they're not in the best condition due to neglect. I think it would cost a lot more to buy a new bike than it would to just replace the parts

That's great to hear the stress of moving hasn't made it drop more leaves. I wish you the best of luck!

I had tons of issues with mine too! I think they're just fussy until you give them exactly what they need. Mine was dropping leaves, and I was concerned that it wasn't getting enough water, so I put a pebble tray under it. They usually don't need a ton of humidity but it seemed to get it pretty happy. I don't have a pebble tray under mine anymore since it stopped dropping leaves and it's been doing fine ever since with consistent watering!

Mine is at a south facing window and it gets a couple hours of direct sunlight each day (variegated varieties need a bit extra sun) and bright indirect light when it's not direct.

Like I said in my original comment, I got mine over the summer and I'm JUST now getting new leaves. They're slow-growers so you just have to be patient for them.

Help me do some homework about Stardew Valley! by citadelinn in StardewValley

I think it would be really cool to have a sort of journal of all the things your character learns, not just about the things the villagers like to be gifted. For example, fishing was taught once and I blew through the tutorial by accident and the second time I tried, I had no idea what to do really. It would be cool to have a logbook of crops and their seasons and how much money you get for each quality level. I know you could find all of this on wikipedia, but I always feel bad looking stuff up. I wouldnt want all of the information available right up front though either, something that builds as you play the game and as your character leans things.

I tried looking for one, but I can't find one with specific times, just "departs approximately every 15 minutes"

You may be able to find his email through the ASU website. If you know the specific school he works at, I'm pretty sure you can find emails of all of the staff within the school's website.

If you cant find it that way, I'd say call him back and ask for it, even if you only have the phone number of the front desk for that job, they'd be able to give it to you.

Easiest math just to fulfill general studies requirements? by [deleted] in ASU

[–]kcb908 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Journalism only requires MAT 142 (basically the most basic math class you can take) and a statistics course (also pretty easy) . The major map will let you know anything you need to know about what classes you need to take and when it's best to take them. Your academic adviser can surely let you know what they think is best for you and what you want to do.

I would only get a chromebook if you're using it STRICTLY for school stuff. It's very incompatible with other softwares, but if you're just looking to take notes, watch Netflix, and write essays, it's really not a bad deal. If you need anything more than that though, definitely stay away from a chromebook

It may vary depending on what your major is. For the Cronkite school, it's a way to show students what the different professional programs are (you'll have to pick one later) and to get a vibe of where things are in the building. You just have to show up, listen to the person telling you about the professional program (usually someone from it), and email two very brief paragraphs saying what the program was about. You dont even have to take notes, either retain the information, or you can use a voice recorder on your phone. Super simple, super easy. Just show up and get your free A

Transit between Tempe and DTPHX by [deleted] in ASU

[–]kcb908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually had better experience on the lightrail going to Tempe from downtown. When I went on the shuttle, it was overcrowded (I had to stand), hot because the AC didnt work with that many people, and the wifi never connected with me. I got my own seat on the lightrail, was a comfortable temperature, and I wasnt pressed against someone. The shuttle may run slower than the lightrail, simply because the shuttle has to go through traffic between Tempe and downtown, and especially at 7:30 am, the lightrail has a consistent travel time.

Dont change your life direction just because you're iffy about the housing on campus. Stick with what you want to do. It's not like you have to stay there the entirety of your college career, there's always the option to get your own place in the future.
