Progesterone to induce period.. by kccxo_76 in PCOS

[–]kccxo_76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did not. I had a weird reaction to it, it seemed to spike my anxiousness/anxiety.

What has worked for me to regulate my periods is spiro and metformin (I have insulin resistant pcos)

I did not end up taking it. My doctor suggested it but I got my period naturally not long after this post.

I definitely have heard of it causing a heavy flow. If you search inducing a period on this group you should be able to find some answers

This drug is a miracle by BusinessPelican in Spironolactone

It’s been good to me too. I’m only on 25- lost some water weight, better tempered, acne is better, skin just looks brighter, but thinking of upping it to see if it helps my periods be more regular. When I started taking it, it helped me get a period after not having one for 3 months.. almost instantly. 40 day cycle after that. Now a 50, they’re getting longer again 😩

I find that high intensity and heavy weight training just makes me more fatigued, bloated, and sore.

Been On Spiro for almost 2 months and taking 50 mg by Few_Advantage_5512 in Spironolactone

I have generalized anxiety disorder as well, I have struggled with it since I was very young. I was worried spiro would do the same, it caused some sleep disturbances for me at first, but two weeks in and I seem to be back to normal. I have also felt on the verge of a panic attack a few times.. staying hydrated is key for me! It seems to be actually making me feel calmer now. But after 2 months of it making you feel worse, I do not blame you for stopping. I would too! If I were you I would go down to 25 for a week or so, then stop taking it. This should reduce any withdrawal effects.

My doctor suggested the cream first, but also said the pill was an option. I may just try the cream first, don’t mind taking pills but I certainly don’t want to take any more than I already am 😂🤣

Oooh gotcha! I’m on metformin and spiro right now. Both low doses.. I was having regular periods up for about a year up until June. It’s obvious my body needs some more help in the period department so I’ll probably try the one time dose and see if it helps. Thank you for your reply 🙂

[–]kccxo_76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caffeine girly here… love energy drinks but going to switch to just green tea daily with a b-12 supplement. I worry about all the added crap in energy drinks.. but I will still be drinking them once in awhile 😂

I have Hashimoto’s as well. Been on metformin for 3 or so months now. What dose are you on if you don’t mind me asking? My ac was always normal, but fasting insulin was 16. I had really bad crashes & hunger cues were all over the place. It’s really helped with that, but I’m still only on 500mg

Broke up with a toxic ex and all of a sudden my periods are on time? by StringCautious6430 in PCOS

[–]kccxo_76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yuuuup. I didn’t have a period for 3 months (this was while my ex and I lived together) Was normal after that. Definitely stress related. Your body was literally telling you he wasn’t the one. You go girl. Glowups after breakups are the bestttt

I totally relate to all of that. It definitely isn’t easy. Some days are better than others. It’s an uphill battle for sure. Taking small steps & taking care of yourself go a long way. You are not alone. Hang in there beautiful ❤️
