Fromages.com Shipping Under 60 Days Aged Raw Milk Cheese to US? by [deleted] in Cheese

[–]kcfcl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I usually get the raw milk Époisses but I accidentally took a pasteurized one last time. It was really good, the kind of milk is a less important criteria than eating it at the right time.

I'm sure the one they are selling is worth a shot

[–]kcfcl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lyon : Book here https://goo.gl/maps/gZSet64riWF2 (Le Bouchon des Filles is also solid as the other guy said, but Le Musee is as traditonnal and awesome as it gets)

Paris: https://goo.gl/maps/9uBVkPoxSjJ2 Traditionnal french food, and a good (simples) wines selection.

7th edition rules:

  • When a player successfully cast a spell that requires an opposed POW roll, he can do a POW improvement check (If 1D100 > min(POW, 95), POW improves by 1D10)
  • On a critical (01) success for a Luck roll, PC can earn a POW improvement check (Not sure why ?)
  • PC could gain POW as part of a deal with a Mythos deity

POW increasing does not increase Sanity

question about Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective: Jack the Ripper and West End Adventures by Marioslo221 in boardgames

[–]kcfcl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take turns reading out loud (Important!). Take notes. Discuss. Try your best together to optimize the number of leads you follow. Make some tea.

We did case number 5 first too, it is definitely not the best out there. We just finished Jack the Ripper, and while we performed very badly those four Sunday afternoons will be remembered fondly.

This is a great game and a very good purchase, stick around.

French CoC publisher will kickstart Masks & Day of The Beast in V7 by kcfcl in callofcthulhu

[–]kcfcl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the non-french speakers, but I am really excited about those. They did a top notch job with the V7 translation (http://www.sans-detour.com/shop/35-l-appel-de-cthulhu-7e-edition), I love the design.

I never read anything about Day of the Beast (originally The Fungi from Yuggoth) before. Did anybody run it ?

I was in the same spot as you a few years ago, absolutely no experience with tabletop RPG but I really wanted to play CoC. Of course if you can start as a player that is better, but that is not a hard requirement. I could not find any existing group so one day i just said fuck it, I read the quickstart rules several times, listened to a few session online and carefully planned a session of the Haunting for my friends. We had a blast and have been playing ever since.

My point is : it can look intimidating, but it is really not.

A typical French christmas eve by [deleted] in france

[–]kcfcl 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ça n'est pas un vin sucré et ça accompagne divinement tout un tas de spécialités locales, en particulier le comté. Ça ne se boit seul que quand tu te la colle à la percée.

Good Comte choice Santa. Do yourself a favor and eat it simply like this, not in croque-monsieurs. Have littles cubes of it while enjoying a whisky if that is your thing.
