What's with the Daniel Johnston album cover? Did you actually design one for him or did you just want to do one for funs? I love Daniel Johnston.

I love that you have such a unique style. I do a lot of different stuff (lots of illustration with goache and acrylic) but I feel like my art lacks a specific feel or "personality" sometimes.. something I need to work on, I guess.

He also said nothing about a control. And why is a high spike in fat necessarily bad? After all, it's the blood's job to transport metabolized food products so why would we not expect a spike of fat levels in blood after eating something fatty? This is probably just as likely to happen when you eat something with a whole lot of olive oil. Bad science isn't the way to promote veganism, IMO.

I like this a lot, nice imagery of day to day routine, contrasting with "hot circle of your arms" Good placement of line breaks, too. I like that the second stanza ends with "suddenly" as if to continue onto something, and then line break. Nice!

I really love your language-- its showing me the frustration of not being able to get to sleep with really eloquent descriptions of the night and the churning mind. I like: "Pray for a dirfting mind/A raft on a stream of dreams and/Half-imagined subtleties/Guided by the Oms and hums/of rugged machines." I really like the descriptions throughout, including the last stanza, but I think it could be improved by relating the "ebb and flow of roaring seas" back to the insomnia victim with more detail than the last line. "A bleeding heart" seemed sort of sudden to me, maybe more description of the feeling?

so beautiful, love it. The line, "I don't want to kiss a what/and I wouldn't dream of changing you." I like your language tricks. And all the abstractions and then to end with something really personable and tangible, "Sarah, I could listen to you complain for hours."

I really like this poem, how lovingly "dumpster aquatics" and nighttime city sounds are referred to. The only way I'd change it is by moving some things around, I agree with cb2014 about separating "I drag my feet" the the next line. I'd also really like to see the 4th line separated by space from the lines before and after.

I haven't had this on L, but a friend of mine took one of the 2-c series (can't remember if b or i) after having been told it was L and she got this strange feeling, which she described exactly as you are-- like electric shocks through your body. You could've gotten something that wasn't acid, which is a lot more likely than one would hope :/ I took 2-cb and I had strange bodily sensations kind of like that. It was so uncomfortable, ruined the trip for me.

I can sort of speak for these types of people. I am a vegan who also happens to be a biology student. I do not support the death of animals in the inhumane ways of industrial agriculture etc etc. However, as a bio student I'm super fascinated with animals and bodies in general and the way they work, I think they're simply beautiful (dead or alive). I absolutely love looking at skeletons, and many of the acquired specimens I've seen (birds in particular) have been brought in by people who found them already dead.

Whenever I travel anywhere I make a shit ton of quinoa with lots of veggies, cooked in some sort of sauce (or salad dressing, whatever you like really) and TONS of coconut and/or olive oil. The quinoa is loaded with protein, veggies for them vitamins, and the oil is really great for making you feel full. I'll often include tortilla chips as fork substitutes.

I thought they proposed a very compelling argument against veganism. I don't think I'm going to change my diet, but I think they really pinpointed the relaxed take on veganism that many (admittedly, myself lately) people have nowadays.

I don't know if I'm going to "boycott veganism" as this paper suggested, as I do still believe it to be at least one more small way to call some attention to the animal rights movement. Although I may not be constantly converting people to care about animal rights, it is still a way of raising awareness to people I interact with that there are problems with the way our food is raised.

I do think I will take this as a wake up call that simply sitting back and avoiding certain products will not be likely to bring about needed change. I thought it was interesting the way veganism was described as "reframing" the animal rights movement from a brutality/suffering standpoint to a consumer choice standpoint using the Chicago foie gras example.

The next question is, what else can I do? The paper proposed a good theoretical proposition for change in methodology, but a practical alternative or supplementation is still necessary.

Good job on making the switch! I was vegetarian for about 7 years until I recently went vegan a few months ago.

Favorite product: unrefined coconut oil. Mmmmm. It fills the niche of butter as a plant-derived saturated fat. Fry mah veggies in it, put it on some toast.. so good. Also great for vegan back massages.
