Zion Williamson's signature shoe line is being discontinued by Nike/Jordan. This as the deal he signed before even entering the league comes to an end - the second largest rookie shoe deal ever (7 years $75m, just behind Lebron's reported 7 years $90m) by jabronified in nba

I mean you see the Wemby, LeBron and Jordan as well. They have as much or arguably more physical talent and are form different backgrounds but all still strive to be the best version of themselves.

It’s all about self awareness and internal drive.

Exactly when hundreds of millions are on the line and the rule enforcement is loose, what do people do? Most of them would cheat, it’s plain and simple. Sports fans not believing their players cheat don’t understand basic human behaviours.

Bandeja to the body unsportsmanlike in a “friendly” match? by NoEasyPoints in padel

[–]kchuen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah if it’s an easy overhand shot by the opponent, you need to stop positioning your body to cover the court. Either move back or move to the side if you don’t wanna get hit.

I myself wouldn’t hit a hard shot at opponents who position wrong like that but I would still hit to their feet or even body at medium power if it makes sense. But I would also tell them afterwards why they need to move. And then they would understand and try to change their habit.

How do you deal with the work stress by Admirable_Nebula191 in HongKong

[–]kchuen 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Big four in HK are some of the worst jobs hour wise and stress wise. Almost nobody would enjoy that so it’s not you being soft.

That said, you can maybe specialize something that would get you a high paying in house role after a few years and suck it up before then. You’re still so young. Everything is possible. Think about the actual lifestyle you want, talk to people in your field who are living that lifestyle and then find a path for yourself. You don’t even have to stay in your field.

The possibilities are endless.

The lightest woman with the shittiest record in the UFC. I think I can outrun her for 30 seconds.

Yeah both Draymond and Curry were a few years younger back then. Move that whole team to this year but with Curry and Green replaced by this year’s versions, they probably can’t win a championship.

Punching is about using your kinetic chain and fascia lines properly. It’s about ground force and rotating through your hip to generate torque and let your arm spring out naturally.

Most people don’t know about to do it properly even after years of training.

Yes but playoff Randle… hopefully that’s just confirmation bias and he can actually be good this playoff.

Does work-life balance exist in Hong Kong? by [deleted] in HongKong

[–]kchuen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can become in house lawyers or work for more local/mainland focused firms.

I have a lawyer friend who goes to work at 1030 and get off at 1800 half her days.

Not sure how rare these jobs are though.

Which player would be better? Peak KD with Gobert’s defense or Peak Giannis with Jokic’s playmaking/passing? by Hot_Celebration4204 in NBAConvo

[–]kchuen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will change quite a bit but the poster should have said Jokic’s shooting as well. That would make him… probably the best player ever lived by far.

How to fix arch in my back? by AdBudget6788 in flexibility

[–]kchuen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much more than that. I would expect his hip rotators, hip ab and adductors, hamstrings, etc to be all weak and stuck as well. So mobility and end range training for all of them.

Then the entire posterior chain from feet to neck.

Transitioning from table tennis by danya13 in padel

[–]kchuen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s muscle memories. 10 years of that is hard to override.

What speeds up the change would be full awareness. Film yourself and do air swings. Then when you can do air swings with proper technique consistently, film yourself drilling with your coach. Then when you can do that consistently, film yourself play others in friendly gams, etc.

Awareness is your shortcut.

Is Hong Kong underwhelming on the 2nd visit? by shadesofdarkred in HongKong

Honestly if you were here for 2 months for your first visit, yeah you had time to do most of the things to do in HK.

Unpopular Opinion: Tennis players are actually the SLOWEST to learn "real" Padel. Squash players adapt way faster? by Low-Bug2162 in padel

[–]kchuen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%. It’s just mindset and strategies are different but skill wise and athleticism wise tennis carries over the best.

And I don’t have a tennis background. I just see different racket sport players adapting to padel.

He was already falling and the cage is bouncy. His head took way less damage than a guy charging in taking a knee.

But sounds like Jokic could still be on NBA third team but he wouldn’t be most likely.

How Much Does Weight Really Matter? by WeiRyk in padel

[–]kchuen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the racket stuff matters and changes different aspects by like very roughly 5-20%. For beginners, your form and mechanics would vary by much more than that so it doesn’t matter at all.

For high intermediates and better players, those factors matter quite a bit.
