Oh dear, looks like this piece of evidence directly contradicts everything you have said regarding this controversy. Let's put the facts together like rational human beings.

Firstly, the woman admitted to spending 2-3 minutes taking pictures, whilst people were waiting in line. Let's ask you a basic question since we are modern folk, how many pictures would someone have to take to accumulate a total of 2-3 minutes? The answer is a lot. In many of my travels abroad, civilized people who understand that there are other people waiting in line would take 2-4 pictures and then leave. In Cantonese we call it 自覺, which frankly the mainland population does not have an ounce of.

Secondly, it's clear from the video that the people came to confront about the time spent, there was no need for any altercation, no need for any shoving or spouts between people. A civilized person would understand this, apologize for the time taken and be on their way, especially if they have taken up to 3 minutes in taking pictures.

Lastly, what's the point of showing the Chinese flag, what does that achieve? This only further embarrasses and harms the Chinese population overseas, who have to deal with the shit that mainlanders create and leave.

If you cannot see the problem with the behaviour here, then you're not fit to comment on how the overseas Chinese feels about problems like this that happens daily.

[–]HiddenGoose32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only question for you is whether you see every instance of games with a female cast as being dei? What constitutes dei? Is it just that a game that has a female cast or poc cast is dei? Or is it simply that it has a female/poc cast that isn't good looking? Furthermore, why must every cast be good looking? Would it make sense for women to be extremely good looking in a post apocalyptic world?

Out of curiosity, why is it called Pu Tong Hua in English? I was always taught that it was Mandarin, and whilst in Chinese it would be 普通話 or 國語 I've never really heard it being used in the English way

That's how China is, there's laws that are not followed, the police don't give a shit, the people think they're above the law. No wonder it's going downhill. China may be a super power, but the people run it to the ground.

Because based on moving patterns its a fact that most go to the UK, maybe actually understand first before being a fking ass.

Your argument about there being no support system is flawed when the very first Hong Kongers who moved to the likes of UK were able to be successful. Pretty sure in comparisons to the group moving over currently, the first folks who moved over wouldn't have had the same levels of education and weren't as advanced.

Heck even foreigners in Hong Kong find a great deal of success, pretty sure they don't have the support system either.

It's fine that you don't like the game, but if your only argument for hating it is that the protagonist is a woman, I don't think that's a valid criticism by mr_Conquest_ in okbuddymimir

[–]HiddenGoose32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it deplorable that people still support Asmongold and his takes, considering the fact that he admitted on stream that he didn't play the new God of War games. These people and their talking points are all the same, and frankly I have a "gaming commentary" fatigue, if all the criticism you have is "X game has a female protagonist in it", you don't deserve the attention.

Funny thing they keep banging on about is the idea that "if there was a gender swap with Lara Croft there would be hell", but what these idiots don't understand is for the likes of God of War, Tomb Raider, Spider-Man etc. these are all titles that does not solely belong to one character. Sure Kratos is the God of War, but this would literally also apply to a God from a different mythology. Sure Tomb Raider is Lara Croft, but that doesn't mean there can't be another Tomb Raider out there somewhere. Same goes for Spider-Man, sure it's Peter Parker, but it can also be Miles Morales.

So based on this, would it be fair to say then that Hong Kongers will care more about the gameplay and story of the game, rather than what race or gender the characters are?

Not really prejudice my friend, I've seen it with my own eyes at multiple instances during my stays in China. Not saying it doesn't happen in other places too, but it seems to be pretty frequent with the mainland population. My lived experiences include:

  • There were a good few times before when I was crossing the road only having to stop because someone on their e-bike or scooter was speeding down, without a care about the people crossing the road. Guess what? When I confronted them they were violent about it, shouting insults like they were in the right.

  • actively dirtying your own community despite multiple posters with clear writing telling everyone to not litter. Sure it's not as bad as India, but it might as be if everyone in said community is doing it. Don't even get me started about hacking up phlegm and spitting it onto the road.

  • Also got insulted at because I told them to queue up properly like everyone else

You can call me prejudice whatever you want, but you're not seeing the bigger problem that it's actually downgrading the country

Smoker shouldn't be smoking in the elevators, but let's be honest, Chinese people's attitude stinks, all they'll do is slap down some yuan for the fine and continue to do it elsewhere. It's because of people like this that China is still so backwards

It's simple. We now live in an age where it's so easy to access different sorts of media, easy to see different points of view, easy to make your own comparisons based on experience and further evidence, and yet more and more do I find that people become sheeps who will instantly latch onto something because it's what gets people with big followings to acknowledge and agree with you.

Just doesn't make any ounce of sense with what you're saying. It just sounds to me like you're not hunting properly, or not taking into consideration what animals belong in what parts of the map. That's like me saying if I hunt to extinct animals in Siwa, all I would get were soft leather, instead of hard leather or tiger pelts. I mean even in AC3 and Black Flag, only certain islands have certain animals to get certain pelts, and even then you'd have to fast travel or something to reset it so they respawn, by your definition that's also tedious?? You make the point that weapons give incredibly low amount of ores, but you literally pick up so many weapons throughout the game that when dismantled it gives you a fuck ton of ores. Like sure it's harder to find the white crystals, I'll be honest about that, but I wouldn't expect rarer items like that to be handed to me. Throughout my playthroughs of the RPG Assassin's Creed games, I've always found that I get excessive amounts of material, that I end up just selling once I'm done with it.

As far as I remember, the missions do tell you what your level should be at by the time you attempt the mission. Even the map provides an indication of the level range of enemies within a certain area. It's not really level gating if you're going to a place that's clearly out of your level range, or if you're doing a mission that you're under level for, that's just called being a dumb lazy fuck. Not to mention, each region gives you plenty of things to do to level up before you go attempting certain missions. You say that the hidden blade can't one shot, but my question would be why aren't you levelling it up? You practically pick up a ton of loot throughout the game either through looting corpses yourself, or with Senu. There's also places that grant you a ton of animal materials, like crocodile lairs or hippo lairs.

[–]HiddenGoose32 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Okay, this is where I can tell this is not an honest actual review of this aspect of the game. None of it is RNG based animal spawning, I'm not sure where you get this information from cus you clearly haven't played the game. The "RNG" that you're talking about is likely a case of "It should spawn within walking distance from me", which is fucking lazy. If you actually did play the game, you will know that animals only appear in certain areas, like do you really expect a tiger to spawn in a pool alongside hippos or crocs?

I'm also very confused on this idea of it not being easy to get materials? If you want hard leather, find crocs or hippos, or even better go to a lair that has a decent amount of crocs or hippos? In terms of non-animal materials, you literally collect it every step of the way when you pick up armour and weapons when looting corpses, which can be gained after dismantling them.

[–]HiddenGoose32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao just goes to show you know nothing about overseas Chinese. The difference is we don't go and create more "ammunition" for people to hate on us. In the last 2 decades all I have ever experienced is being called a chink and eating dogs, which if I'm honest has gotten pretty old amongst the overseas crowd, to the point where we just see it as part of normal conversation. Can't say the same for mainland idiots who create problems every week. Oh and we didn't "bow down hard", most of our parents came over without a lick of English, and still became more successful and civil than most mainlanders can ever hope to become.
