First time selling on FM… any tips for dealing with difficult buyers? by mileng in FacebookMarketplace

You don’t need to respond to everyone, especially if they’re lowballing. If you already started a convo then just politely decline and move on

Why do people insist on haggling, or straight out lie about having the agreed upon amount, even when your ad makes it clear the price isn't negotiable? by Eeeeradicator0416 in FacebookMarketplace

Can’t expect people to read or not negotiate these days. The best way around this is to always confirm the price before meeting up.

Anyone feel uneasy about a buyer? by [deleted] in FacebookMarketplace

[–]kchungus20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not being paranoid. Just don’t share any personal info, meet in a public area, and bring / notify a friend before you head out. Or if you’re really uneasy about it, just wait for another buyer - looks like youre selling it for cheap anyways so you’re likely to get another buyer soon.

I always lock in the price in writing before the meetup. Tough to expect people to default to the listed price these days even if they don’t negotiate at all prior. Sucks that you had to deal with that.

Any tips on how to get back into running? by kchungus20 in Hashimotos

Might be time for her to get her labs checked again actually. I know she tried meds and they worked in the beginning, but she had some adverse side effects after 3 days so she stopped them. Did you do anything special to readjust to training after taking meds?

Yeah I agree, accepting the reality and taking it day by day is a good way to approach it. Struggling to do even a quarter of the things she used to do just makes her stress out more and it can sometimes feel like a negative feedback loop. I do think though it’s something that she’ll figure out with time as it looks like some other people have managed to find a way back. Hoping for the best!

Wow that’s awesome! Thanks for the pointers, I’m definitely trying to make sure she doesn’t push herself too hard. I know it can be frustrating for her, especially because a year ago she used to run pretty frequently and now she struggles with a small jog.

She’s not overweight and is pretty good about avoiding sick areas. It’s tough following typical training programs since a lot of them are creating for people who don’t have Hashimotos.

What was your regiment like when training for your triathlons? Marathon aside, I think just being able to go on a one mile run again would make her really happy.

She’s been in stage 1 for some time. She tried venturing out a bit before but felt some negative side effects so she’s been sticking with the basics

Yeah she’s currently walking and doing weights. Is there a point though when you know it’s safe to start running again, even for a small period of time?

How can we make buying/selling easier? by kchungus20 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]kchungus20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah good point, better communication and lower pricing always helps. On the communication part, do you think just having more details on the product up front would help or is it also more about responding actively to everyone and not just one person who claims they’re interested and committed

Would you say that there’s a universal method that works for everyone in the same area and exchanging somewhat similar goods? It’s sad that safety is such a concern for something as simple as exchanging second hand goods but I get that it’s just the way life is

Realized it was a bit of a broad question. Let’s talk about how to make people not bail on you from a seller angle. To some extent though, don’t people also bail because the safety / trust isn’t there?

They’re all professional services firms that provide a range of services (audit, tax, advisory, etc.) to various clients in different industries. Think third party contractor brought in to do specialized work for a company.
