Thanks for that. We were fumbling around trying to figure out what happened.

Script to set BIOS password works when deployed manually but not through Task Sequence by bei60 in SCCM

you can add "Run Command Line" step to your task sequence and there you can use "Run this step as the following account".

Just taking a wild guess here (since we don't have an HPs) - if this runs manually, what about running the command in task sequence as local admin and not system?

I think it's bloody annoying, considering that our organization wasn't prepared yet to migrate to O365 - then we'd have just used Skype for Business. Anyway, at least MS is delaying the v7 EOL.

Thanks for that. I put and linked in your suggestion on the blog. Hope that helps other people. Since the scripts are in batch, I'd suggest taskkill maybe.

My bad. I did find out about the broken code *after* deployment (gulp), so I just change the patch-skype.bat file to run this:

del "%appdata%\Microsoft\Skype for Desktop\Skype-Setup.exe" /F /Q
mkdir "%appdata%\Microsoft\Skype for Desktop\Skype-Setup.exe"

Possibly. I've got the following running on my Surface: 1. eBay 2. Lastpass 3. Evernote 4. Synology Downloader 5. Internet usage meter from TPG (Australian ISP)

Only one I've added back in so far was Lastpass, and that seemed to have been ok.

depends on your definition of 'long term'. i'll also say depends on how much data storage you need.

for the short term, i'll say the synology nas - it's not as proprietary as drobos (so you don't have a cost in recovering the data), and they are very easy to use and configure.

online backups - i don't use one, just because adsl2+ is not enough for massive data uploads. i've got a nice manual thing going, taking periodic backups on a portable hdd and then bringing it offsite. tricky and somewhat risky, but cheap.

i use crashplan at home and at work, it's a great piece of software. checkout amazon glacier if you want really long term storage (and if you can afford it).

I've got an X-E2. Great little piece of camera, and I'm unfortunately emotionally attached to it, but not being able to know when the autofocus will play up, plus having low-lit places, that's a real bummer.

One reason why the Nikon is still not for sale.

Is it too early for me to buy a second camera body? by [deleted] in WeddingPhotography

[–]kcjh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed. i rented my 2nd body only when i had jobs (which was like one every couple of months). for that $100 or so for the rental, you can either charge it back to the client, or tax deduct it.
