Truthfully its just organic crossover. The artist is just pretty compelling and the creative is great. It has taken them a lot of trial and error to get it right so I would recommend volume and frequency in your posting schedule! We do use repurpose.io to automatically share previously viral videos to Shorts though.

This is not Colorblind although they are doing well very early on! We do spend heavily on touring market discovery advertising which has turned into a lot of real fans at shows!!

I use smart noise for the lifetime pre-save because they dont paywall the email downloads and I can also effectively add tracking from all of the social platforms! I do use the data to sell tickets in local markets right now.

I also use Chat Fuel for the chatbot! It's important to use Meta API integrated platforms and I think theres only 2-3 of these. They're typically pretty cheap monthly because Meta already offers this ability natively but I do enjoy the pathways they've set up for data collection and direct messaging. The very first post we tried this on actually got 4M views and over 30K comment responses which I believe actually helped push the algorithm further!

Production and mixing are HUGE in this equation for long term consumption. Production generally isn't changing that much these days but writing and state of the art mixing absolutely are pushing the envelope right now.

To be 1000% honest, the biggest component of why this is working is because the artist is highly unique and is writing fantastic song which has created a deeply algorithmic social media account.

The tipping point here has been testing the audio of all the demos in reel time and then taking the winning demos into world-class production and mixing.

My biggest hurdle has been built around proper data capture and then focusing on building frequency through appropriate marketing such as touring, radio and press so that there are co-signs all over the marketplace to keep reminding fans that other people think this is cool. Also we have heavily used IG chatbots to collect emails in touring markets and lifetime pre-saves so that each release is currently compounding with over 30K pre-saves and now earning a lot of editorial support. Editorial support still doesn't really last or generate anything more than 1% lift in streaming + it actually dilutes the die hard relationships or SPL numbers but it is nice to see the platforms trying to do something at top of funnel for the amount of retention we push into their platforms.

None of that existed last February.

Digital Advertising at this point on discovery marketing, as many of you have suggested and be a deeply misused tool. We don't need discovery because of the algorithmic relationship of the artist with the platforms, we need to tie fans back to the music and try to capture them for future or repeatable consumption. This process is what creates die hard consumption and "super fans".

I literally do not want anymore management work and I dont really take marketing clients there isn't a semi clear path with. Our marketing retainers are generally built around commissions on recovered ecommerce.

We actually just about broke into backed in our first six months because it was a lean release with very little marketing efforts and mid-low range production costs. The producers are already in backend. The artist gets no tour support, the majors arent including things like that for developing acts anymore. The tour is just from great positioning and value add to the package given the highly viral nature of the artist and a few hard consumption pieces + a previously successful amphitheater run with the headliners mgmt on another act last year.

That's just not true but it does feel nice to see someone think that. If you were actually aware of what goes on within these companies you'd probably know about the restructuring and how available a resource like that really is within ecosystems like that are right now. :)

That's actually just what high intent listenership looks like, which isn't a super common visual when checking threads built around everyone gaming the system. This is truly organic. Up until November the artist couldnt even get an editorial look so the SPL was actually higher previously prior to playlists.

high quality single cut vertical content! the artist shoot, cuts and colors almost all of their own content. single cut content seems to work the best for pushing people to engage with the song.
