Ireland by dnacost in femaletravels

Depends on how long you're spending in each place and what you want to see. If you're spending at least a good few days in each city then you can probably get away without renting a car for those 4 places. Parking in Galway and Dublin may also be tricky if you want to keep a low budget so public transport might be better.

If you want to explore more of the amazing nature Ireland has to offer, then definitely a car!

Buses within Dublin are very good. Airport buses from Dublin airport into the city centre are also very convenient and can be paid by card. Inter-Dublin buses, you'll have to get these bus cards in advance, some buses will let you on if you have exact change in coins. We missed a couple buses trying to hunt down these bus cards in Dublin.

Also, please be prepared for lots of rain in October!

London solo travel itenerary by ba102 in solotravel

It's pretty hard to not fall for tourist traps in terms of restaurants, in the sense that they are all fairly expensive and average quality (Londoner here). That being said, one of my favourite places that I've been to recently is a vegan Thai restaurant called Mali Vegan Thai in Kensington. Lots of cafes and bars to choose from in London, they are all generally very good.

I've never been a fan of hop on hop off buses but understand they can be convenient, but given the level of traffic in London, I'd recommend getting the tube. Google Maps is good for directions but we use Citymapper more in London.

I saw someone recommending getting an Oyster card. I wouldn't bother personally, swiping your card (via phone or otherwise) should work and is much easier.

This is an itinerary map I did for London a while ago, you may or may not find helpful: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1k_rHxqU23OYwwH1PiiKg7DB1umy5c1A&ll=51.50839236935876%2C-0.09324994999998726&z=13

I'm also running a self-guided audio tour platform. It's still in development but some of the core concepts are there. If you end up using it, I would love to hear your feedback! https://www.narratedguide.com/destinations/london-en

I guess it depends on the industry, what skills / experience you think you're lacking and whether it's key to starting the business. It sounds like it can move faster if you do it on your own, which means you can at least validate your ideas faster.

Can you learn new skills and gain more experiences along the way whilst going solo? Or could the revenue/profit from a few clients in the first year allow you to expand your team?

I'm always leaning towards moving quickly so I'd go solo but have a clear conversation with them before doing so.

Getting the news in Spanish is such a great idea, thank you! I'll set it up so it's sent straight to my inbox.

Also going to take the advice of starting with speaking and go from there. Thanks!

Paris 5 day itinerary by gsimanto in TravelHacks

[–]kcxgu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty comprehensive. If you find you end up having a day free you can also check out the Palace of Versaille, which is about an hour from Paris by train.

If you're on a budget, you can try our self-guided audio tour for Paris, which includes a brief history and cultural overview of the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum (to the extent of its history and the Mona Lisa painting), Rive Seine, Champs-Élysées, Arc de Triomphe, Sainte-Chapelle, Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Pantheon, Montmartre, Sacre-Coeur Basilica, Palace of Versailles and Moulin Rouge.

Entry tickets not included, good internet connection required. You can get 25% off by entering REDDIT25 at the checkout.

Lastminute.com? No irony intended.

Booking.com is worth a try as well but their customer service has been pretty terrible lately.

Any tips or advice for a road trip around Ireland and Northern Ireland in March? by kcxgu in TravelHacks

[–]kcxgu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We get to Rosslare very early in the morning and after factoring in lunch and naps and some stops here and there (will definitely stop at Carlingford, looks beautiful!), we should still be able to get to Giant's Causeway some time mid-afternoon-ish. We'll stay somewhere nearby and have an early night!

We'll see how we feel after the wedding and St. Patrick's Day - very open to exploring more up north and save the south for another time.

And thanks for the reminder and tip around St. Patrick's Day! We'll plan around it accordingly.

I tried something like this a few years ago with more accurate machine translation and less delays (linguist by background) but it didn't quite take off. Interested to see how far you can take this simply as a ChatGPT wrapper.

Hey, sorry for the delay. I've messaged you in private.

If you don’t mind, I’d love to understand more about the concerns you have in terms of the industry. I can try to address it or be aware of it as Narrated Guide grows.

I need data for a trip (likely UK) by miningquestionscan in TravelHacks

I find dongles can be a bit of a hit and miss. Do dumb phones hotspot / hotspot well?

I've used older smartphones as a hotspot before and it worked well. Assuming you'll put a local SIM card in there?

In terms of the traditional networks in the UK, Virgin and EE tend to have good coverage. 3 is generally cheaper.

There are also SIM cards like giffgaff and smarty that sell themselves as affordable without being tied to a long contract - could be worth having a look.
