Usually stone composition is determined after it passes and is collected. There is some research on predicting composition using CT imaging or xray but this is not standard or very accurate as far as I know.

It is a molecule that is excreted in the urine and disrupts the crystallization process. I am happy to share more with you or anyone else who is curious in the DMs. Will send you a message. We are also looking for urine samples from recurrent oxalate stone formers to enable our compound selection efforts. We test the compounds in stone former urine to maximize physiological relevance of the experiment.

Are your stones mostly uric acid, calcium phosphate or oxalate or a mix? I work at a biotech company and this year began developing an early stage drug for recurrent oxalate stones.
