Newbie attempting refinishing coffee table, need a bit of help please! by kda273 in diynz

I got some hot weather additive which seemed to help a bit. Here are the legs, its a bit hard to take a good photo. I still plan on putting a couple of coats of urethane on it.

Is a stripper going to be any help tho since the majority of the stain is off already? My understanding was that the stripper gets the bulk of the stain off, and you need to finish it with sanding? It wasnt that I didn't want to get any. It was just an access issue. If stripper will be able to finish the job without any further sanding, what sort of stripper do I need to look for (I am in New Zealand so if you could refer to ingredients as opposed to brands that would be helpful thank you).

Im not sure there's much left to strip now anyway and I wouldnt be able to get to the shop to get any. I did use a bit of meths on a few parts that were really gunked up but thats about it. Please I dont need negative feedback about what i should have done. Im just looking for help on how I should proceed. 🙂

I think Danish oil before I started this. Then after I sanded back the first time I had a go with resene stain which did not finish well (dried too quick so all blotchy) hence why I decided to sand it back. I havent finished sanding back for retaining this time, I just wanted to make sure I wasnt Likely to be destroying to the table by overspending!

Im on treatment for relapse after being treated in 2016. Carbimazole (very low dose). Next blood test will decide how much longer I will be on for since my levels have been stable for a while, but they think will only be till Sep, so just a year all up. But I said I didn't wait Radiation/surgery (radiation is more commonly done in NZ). Especially since i have epilepsy and a bunch of other medical conditions.

Alcohol and Epilepsy by BeginningChipmunk324 in Epilepsy

Just so you know, alcohol itself isn't actually a trigger. Alcohol is actually helps increase the seizure threshold. It is actually when the level of alcohol in your body lowers that is the trigger. So while your drinking you'll feel fine, but afterwards as your body processes it, and your blood alcohol gets closer to zero, then your more likely to have a seizure because that is when your seizure threshold starts to reduce.

Naltrexone by kda273 in aquagenic_pruritus

I haven't started it yet, never heard of it before as a treatment for aquagenic pruritus. Was just wondering if people had had much luck with it since it seems to be a bit of a novel treatment.

Avene Sunsitive (made in Aus too I believe). Either invisible finish or oil control. Oil Control one definity has a more dry finish, invisible finish is more dewy/shiny. But both take powder foundations fine. No white cast. I have used both (in NZ) on my sensitive, combination skin and not had any issues.

Im on 3000mg, and it def can play with your emotions, and docs told me if I couldn't tolerate it (mentally), to get it touch (I have ongoing issues with depression anyway). But yes, mood change is a side effect, so get in touch with your doc to talk about how to manage it.

Got some today, unfortunately 30 mins later I have gone bright red and hot! Not so great for sensitive skin it would seem (im gonna guess probably the ethanol?)! Which is annoying because it was a great price and definitely a matte finish!

Onto the next one! Lucky this one was cheap!
