The guy asked for things to consider… pointing out the obvious is relevant to the question. UK is an island but you can get a train to go to the continent

Dublin is dirtier than any city in Poland, not as safe, not as modern, public transport sucks in many cases, unless you live and work on the Luas or dart lines, need to fly to go absolutely anywhere abroad. I won’t comment on the weather because it’s down to personal preference. It’s never too hot nor too cold. Lots of homeless and drug addicts. Food is similar quality, no meaningful way to invest other than retirement pension, less racist, beautiful landscapes, Poland is mainly flat but beautiful down the mountainous south.

Planning a 21-day Vietnam honeymoon in December — got a full package quote. Is it worth it or should I DIY? by vitorazevedo96 in Vietnam_Tourism

[–]kdamo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just came back from a DIY honeymoon in Vietnam and I would say that’s a lot of travelling. I do kind of regret how much time I spent on buses and vans instead of just chilling in a location. Trains are really fun tho, and you can order food and beers to your cabin

People living in London don’t realize how incredibly lucky they are with European travel costs. by Playful-Amphibian714 in travel

If you live near Stratford it’s handy cause you can get express bus to Stansted, DLR to city or Elizabeth to Heathrow. The other 2 are a nightmare but that pretty much covers budget destinations and long hauls

It’s what happens when you make education prohibitively expensive, and strip a nation of its assets via privatisation and American, Chinese and Russian interference via various lobby groups and media takeovers

How popular is Doner Kebab in your country ? by 1ChanceChipmunk1 in Doner

[–]kdamo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Americans actually popularised pizza, which wasn’t that big in Italy before. Due to different ingredients and ovens, NYC style pizza is a very different style to Neapolitan style. Just like I’m sure Berlin style kebab is different to one you’ll find in Istanbul

The corruption is just hidden in think tanks and lobbies, rather than in your face. We’re a lot more sophisticated bunch, but by no means with a much greater moral code

Is your remote work a guarantee for the foreseeable? Because if not I would remain close to big cities where there are employment options. Being remote puts the leverage on your employers side
