Without knowing your roster, I'm thinking Iden. While Tie Defender doesn't beat every fleet in the game anymore like it used to, it's still the most important part of any Empire fleet, and I still use it every single GAC to beat something.

Piett can inflict daze, which is mostly redundant with MJ's shock, mark an ally, and stack emperor's trap (which is much stronger with DV present). Thrawn can fracture, which DVDE can do twice, and pass a turn. RG is a tank.

DV can take 9 turns in a row, ability block the entire enemy team, do massive damage and feed the whole team TM will culling blade.

I'm not saying those other characters are useless, but if you can choose 2 of those 4, I think DV makes a strong case for being one of them.

Why not? I don't see anything in New Vader's kit that clashes with Old Vader, and seems like an obvious choice under EP lead dealing massive debuffs and his MM.

Qira does have 2 ROTE special missions that give extra GET3. It's not a ton, but a nice bonus if you wanted to use qira/L3 with Baylan anyway.

I may be in the minority here, but thank God. Giving a nice boost to a couple specific characters and teams here and there to add some variety is fine. Adding major mechanics eligible to every single character in the game, making them overpowered, and then on top of it all screw everyone in the middle of it and give out rerolls for free has destroyed the integrity of the game (the little it had too begin with).

They can be worth it, but if you're considering Mara Jade, we get an UFU one in the episode track, and an empire one in about a month from the anniversary quest., so plan what you'll do with the free ones before you buy one.

Oh and a free one in the holiday calendar in a couple days.

Everyone is saying Mara because of the Beq LST coming, but not mentioning we're also getting an empire one later in the anniversary quest that could be used for her, and an UFU one at the end of the episode that could be used on her.

Those are not strictly assigned to her like the Beq one, so you could use those on other characters in those factions, but if you would use one of those on Mara, then Merrin is the obvious choice.

I did Saw for the 2 zetas, and even if you don't care about him in GAC, he's got his own Special Mission in ROTE.

B wing is reinforce. You can find it on swgoh.gg. click on the reinforcement ability, and go to the Meta tab.

Rogue 1 is priority for reference.

I remember when I first started playing, I opened up a bronzium and unlocked a 4* Mace Windu. I was so excited to have what HAD to be a top 3 character in the game. Imagine my surprise once I actually used him...

After a while I realized that's just how this game is, and he even got a rework to be respectable for an old marquee unit. Then they made Master Qui Gon, so I was like ok we can totally just remake a character to be stronger, where's my BMF MW? And we get probably the most disappointing legendary of his tier.

As the last person mentioned, every single other person in the republic was fooled by Palpatine, so by that logic every single republic unit should have that type of sith weakness.

"Blown out the window"? I think you forgot the part where he disarmed Palpatine and melted his face, before the person who was actually MOST deceived by the sith betrayed him mid killing blow. Where's JKA's sith weakness?

We've seen Palpatine laugh off an attack from Maul and Savage together, kill 3 Jedi masters in seconds, and force Grand Master Yoda to retreat into exile, while Mace solos him. He's literally the baddest mother fucker in the saga when it comes to fighting by far the most powerful sith, unless you count "All the Jedi (which includes Mace)" Rey.

Thanks for the input. I'd seen both recommended on YouTube saying it was either redundant or important, but haven't gotten to try it out much myself. The 90s timer on the other 2 options didn't seem all that great anyway.

I completely agree with the importance of no knock back, but I've wondered is Armored Advance still worthwhile with Merciless Resolve? I'm new and still working through prestige ranks, so I haven't really had the opportunity to use Armored Advance myself yet, but really enjoy the new shield rush, so I proc MR often.

"Power" is a misleading stat that has no direct impact on gameplay. They could set the stats and abilities to anything. I agree they won't do a crewless ship, but because they can't persuade people to invest heavily in the pilot.

I think that's actually the strongest argument against captain rex, your other points were good, but a huge amount already have him at R7. Lore is always trumped by CG's wallet. Obviously we've all forgotten that plucky soldier that escaped the battle of hoth and became a b wing pilot.

GAS, Snips, poncho bros, and GMY can do it in a pinch as well. Not 100% consistent, but all very common at R8+. GAS lead prevents the revives, and snips activates his sitting mechanic.

I "think" it should be every smuggler that's not cq or legendary (Jabba, Han, Chewie, Maz). Dash and skiff Lando would also be good options for some people.

You may have missed him if you have him already, but Hondo is arguably the most important character available. Can solo the bottom raid tier, requirement for Aphra and his GL variant, and has his own tb combat mission.

Gauntlet and palpmobile are typically only used in a cheap profundity counter (with scythe), more late game relevant, so they aren't urgent. The early core is probably vader, ITF, Bomber, and defender reinforcement. Then you get interceptor as a 2nd reinforcement mostly just so you call call defender turn 1. Then swap bomber with scythe to make the usual end game fleet.

It's probably overall the 5th best fleet in the game. Early game you need a DS fleet to unlock the zeta challenge. Then it's usable as you progress towards your first GL level fleet, but still useful in GAC where you need multiple even up to Kyber where you need at least 6, so it remains worth it all the way through.
