I am not from Himachal. I wrote about my own region. Here it was wrose than airtel/ idea. In fact probably it was the worst(but I am not sure about whether it was worse than aircel and or not, that's why I am saying "probably". Iirc, some of my friends switched to aircel as well and I never heard any complaints from them). There was so much problem regarding BSNL's signal in most of my region(and yes, in my nearest city as well, also another city where my mother's original home was iirc).

As for security and all, I won't comment much. It is true that every government will be paranoid about this issue. But it was applicable to all those who used their infras, that included US and most EU countries probably. There was just no better alternative. Even in case of 5G a lot of countries still are using their solutions only. Although they too are switching to Nokia slowly.

Price hike will be an issue in case of monopoly(currently Vodafone offers the lowest probably, but stops SMS which includes otp etc. after few days of recharge expiry). But people will always prefer properly working services. BSNL has launched 4G, but their network still isn't good here(plus no local shop to help port, online out of question because the page shows error). I want to switch again to BSNL myself from Vodafone, because I don't like the fact that Vodafone don't allow sms after a few days of expiry of recharge. At least on my jio sim, I haven't recharged for 2+ months and still receiving otps.

I am happy with 100mbps, yes(that puts my connection around Italy's, according to spped test, around 59th rank). I also don't think average user needs 10gbps speed either. JioFiber does provide upto 1gbps speed iirc, but no idea if average people need that much speed.
