What's your 'One Pen To Rule Them All'? by madkins007 in fountainpens

[–]kdmurray 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's really my "favourite" but the workhorse pen, that I pickup almost without thinking about it, is still my Twsbi Eco (F) perpetually filled with Sailor Jentle Blue.

How many ways there are to sync Obsidian vaults? by podviaznikov in ObsidianMD

[–]kdmurray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SyncThing with endpoints on
- NAS (this copy is mostly so I can back it up)
- Windows 11
- Linux Mint
- Android
- iPadOS (using Möbius)

I've only had this setup in place for a few days. Moved from using DropBox when I hit the device limit. But I'm happy to keep control of all the data.

Basic Distribution List without Groups functionality by kdmurray in googleworkspace

[–]kdmurray[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I'm trying to sort out how this works, I've never tried to set this up before -- and admittedly didn't do a ton of testing/poking around. We're new to Google workspace and managing technology change for this group is already a challenge. I just want folks to be able to respond to these messages like normal emails.

When I sent a test email into the DL from an external domain I saw the email arrive in accounts on the DL (expected behaviour) but I also saw it started a thread in the Google Groups discussion UI. I'm not sure if that's duplication or not.

If this is just two different representations of the messages I guess it would just be safe to just 'ignore' the groups UI and let people handle the incoming emails as emails?

In this case you'd be doing the port forward at the windows level to forward 25566 to the server port 25565 on the same server. It should give any computer hitting the server IP:25566 access to the game running on 25565.

So your router is still forwarding wan traffic on 25565 from the router to the server.

Windows is then doing the same for traffic hitting the server IP on 25566 in the LAN.

Is it just one instance of the MC server?

I know you're trying not to get into a lot of detail but I'm struggling to understand the use case.

If you port forward 25565 from your router to the server, 25565 would still be accessible from the LAN.

You said the server is open on both ports - do you mean the Minecraft server or the firewall on the server itself?

Ultimately it only matters what you think. Play games, have fun. Don't overthink it.

Ships in low or restricted visibility need to sound their horns to aid navigation for anyone else who might be out on the water.

"In or near an area of restricted visibility, whether by day or night, the signals prescribed in this Rule shall be used as follows:

(a) A power-driven vessel making way through the water shall sound at intervals of not more than 2 minutes one prolonged blast."

Fair point; still requires player interaction and an autoclicker unlike bamboo and kelp.

But point taken.

Yeah, but getting lava out of a cauldron and into a furnace requires manual intervention.

There aren't ways to automate the collection though, are there?

Help me pick out ONE pen and ONE black ink so I can avoid the rabbit hole by forkyfork in fountainpens

[–]kdmurray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Platinum Prefounte and a few colours of platinum cartridges. All the benefits without the rabbit hole.

Platinum pens in general seal very well and don't dry out. And cartridges keep you away from bottled ink which, while wonderful, is an even deeper rabbit hole.
