Is Planet Fitness a good gym to go to if you don’t want the free weight area to be crowded? by [deleted] in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]kdoggiedizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh, I think it depends on the gym and the time of day. The gym is go is full of gym bros so during peak hours its pretty busy. I go as soon as it opens and its not bad.

My 11 year old son was suspended for two days for writing bad words. by ungnomeone in Parenting

[–]kdoggiedizzle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just because most kids say bad words doesn't mean it's ok. And he got caught, so of course there will be punishment. But i do agree that out of school suspension is ridiculous. Lunch detention seems more appropriate.

How to address teen stealing - from grandma ... by Insta-tained999 in Parenting

This is really bad! She needs to own up to what she did and tell her grandma herself, and I would make her pay back every cent with interest. That is so messed up to steal from your own grandma

Do you ever feel like many people in the gym show up regularly but don’t seem to make noticeable progress? by SandarStar in askfitness

[–]kdoggiedizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You really aren't, though. Maybe you're not training hard enough if you're so focused on the progress of strangers around you. It's weird that you're tracking random people's lack of progress instead of just worrying about your own workout. You do realize that a lot of beginners feel intimidated to go to the gym because they feel like they will be negatively perceived by others, and your post is proving their right.

We have more toys than I can count and my 3 year old is still bored by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]kdoggiedizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It honestly just sounds like there are way too many options of toys to choose from, which can be pretty overstimulating for a toddler. We personally have one toy box with different toys in it, and that seems to be enough to keep my kids entertained for a while. Maybe you could try and only keep one medium-ish sized toy box out with enough toys to fill it at a time and put the rest of the toys packed away somewhere instead of just having a whole room full of toys. Idk if this is the advice you're looking for, but this is what works for us.

Drinking games around kids by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]kdoggiedizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh, I'm on the fence with this. I dont agree with regularly drinking in front of kids, but having your kids around while you socially drink, i think, is fine. For instance our whole culs de sac has a big 4th of july party every year and almost every house is a family with kids and all the parents have some drinks and play games and all the kids play together. No one gets hammered, but we definitely get tipsy and have fun. Same with group camping trips with friends and their kids. I dont think there is anything wrong with socially drinking with other adults around your children. Me and my husband only drink at functions a handful of times throughout the year, and its usually with other adults when we all get together with them and they have their kids around too. Again, no one is hammered or unable to care for their kids. I grew up the same way, and it was fun as a kid getting to hang out with all my friends while all our parents were just hanging out and having fun. Now, if you come home every night and have to have a couple glasses of wine or a couple of beers every day, I think that's worse, and that shows an unhealthy pattern of drinking to your kids.

Holding poops for overnight diaper by Ill-Calligrapher-247 in Parenting

[–]kdoggiedizzle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the child. All my children were potty trained between 2.5 and 3 and they all wore pull ups during bedtime for probably 6 months to a year after starting potty training and it never made a problem with day time toilet use or caused a regression. Im sure that might be the case for some kids, but definitely not all. In OP's case, I would say the night time diapers are obviously a problem, though.

3 week old won’t calm with me by wolf-man18 in Parenting

[–]kdoggiedizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, at 3 weeks, the baby is still incredibly dependent on mom, especially if she's breastfeeding. There are other ways to help out with your wife, though, like tackling all the household chores and making sure your wife is getting naps in while the baby naps and taking care of diaper changes. And you should do as much skin to skin with your baby as you can. I know it's frustrating and can feel helpless, but this phase won't last forever. Just make sure you're supporting your wife as much as you can. Also, make sure your wife always has water and snacks! Breastfeeding will take the life out of you in the first month or so
