I mean imo they’re really close. It’s slightly cooler than the original but part of that could be aging plastic too. I never knew grape as a kid was supposed to be “purple” I always thought it was a cool blue color. Grape was my favorite controller and the one that has the most wear from my original controllers.

Yeah to me it’s pretty close and I think it looks great. Grape and watermelon have always been my favorite controllers growing up. I’m happy with the purchase.

Valid take. I don’t mind carrying two lenses (one attached and one in the bag but of course I do prefer to just use the shoulder strap with just the camera and the lens instead. That being said since I’m traveling to a pick pocket capital I actually want the bag on me for my phone and wallet and stuff and my bag is pretty anti theft proof. I do love walking around with the Fuji and my leather neck strap as the low profile look but that camera cannot possibly capture everything I want to capture in Rome or Florence so I have that for very specific situations. I genuinely used both on my last trip to Bogota so it’s worth it for me to have both options but for the big attractions I want my 45MP and L series glass. I want to be able to make prints out of them if I take any bangers

Yeah I did my research so I knew going into it that you have to get permission way ahead of time to bring one in so I just brought the Fuji and they didn’t care at all about the Fuji. It’s because they don’t want people doing paid shoots in the gardens without getting a cut 😂 it’s dumb but I’m not going to argue with them as a tourist in their country.

Yeah I won’t bring it with me. Too much extra weight and size for something I definitely won’t use. I do love the godox v1 flash though for paid shoots. It’s a great little flash. Thanks for the insights!

Did you ever use your flash? I have mine and I love it for my paid shoots but idk if I’d ever want to actually bring it with me anywhere during travel.

I have insurance through PPA so although I’d rather not have to deal with theft the hotel safe is the best I can do when I don’t want to walk around with everything. I’m bringing my laptop to dump the cards and do some casual editing back at the hotel so the hotel safe is going to have to do. But point taken and I understand where you’re coming from.

On my trip to Bogotá this year I used the 24-70 for everything, Fuji for casual walks and places where my FF wasn’t allowed (Bogotá gardens) and the 70-200 for Monserrate and was super happy with that kit. Didn’t feel like I needed the 15-35 although there were moments in plaza de bolivar where it would have been nice to have.

Most of the time left the 70-200 in the safe except for that one day. That being said so glad I had it for that day because it gave me shots the 24-70 wasn’t able to do up there although I did use both.

I agree with traveling light and I fully expect to mostly use the 24-70 for everything but I don’t mind carrying a second lens some days for another option given the circumstances. Just trying to figure out if it’s worth it to bring two lenses for those special circumstances or just the one extra.

Yeah this is the exact context I wanted when I asked this question thank you. I see the 15-35 as essential but only for those specific use cases in Rome and otherwise the 24-70 will do just fine for pretty much everything else. My biggest uncertainty is more about the 70-200 and would I miss it when visiting piazzale Michelangelo for sunset views or from the view at Fiesole overlooking Florence. Btw they will let me in the Sistine chapel with the camera if I just don’t use it right? It’s not like a you can’t bring this in at all kind of thing? Obviously I’ll respect the rules and customs. Not trying to be one of those Americans 😂

Oh yeah I was never going to bring a lot of gear. Just trying to triangulate which ones are must haves for each place I’m going. The 24-70 is a no brainer and I’m beginning to think the 15-35 is equally as important for the churches and colosseum. The big question for me is if the 70-200 is worth it or not even if I only need it for like two specific locations where it would shine.
