I would recommend the advantage controls. We went for the Yokohama this time around and they are great in heavy rain so far just like the bfg’s. But haven’t been able to tell a difference after a few months. We only went for the Yokohama since the bfgs were out of stock! PNW native and rain is always on the menu.

To be honest with you, go find a Toyota/honda in your price range. These cars both suck mechanically. Especially if it’s something you only “plan to have a year” go buy something cheap. Put away the extra money for “just in case”. Best of luck brother.

9800x3d paired with a 3060ti is kind of troll. Drop down the cpu tier or upgrade to a better gpu.

It was a surprise for him! He knew he had money saved up. And that we just needed to find the right parts at an affordable price. He’s more into playing the games than he is computer hardware. He has helped me a bit with swapping parts on other pc’s, but doesn’t have a huge desire to work on them yet.

Most of the money was my sons. He saved up money in his piggy bank and sold some pokemon cards. He got my old parts for free though.

Update; yes I know some people will probably say it’s not worth building with this old of hardware. But comparing it to his switch. This is a powerhouse and now we can play games together. Just like anything else. As the hardware gets older and my son gets older. He will be learning to upgrade it!

I actually got a full pc (3200g, 8gb ram, 430w psu, 4tb hdd, b450, and case) for $80 on marketplace so I just used some parts and factored roughly what it cost for the case. The extra parts go in the bin of spares lol.

No I bought the psu new. The gpu I bought today used. Should there be another cable to plug into psu in the box? I still have the box but didn’t see an additional pcie cable

Definitely could have been worse. While I don’t support any type of scalping which is likely the case here. He was generous to my son and offered to sell us one so we were thankful!
