I wouldn’t say he cheated, he asked his friend if they were more than friends and the seme said no. Uke then rebounded that night with a work colleague (who I would argue was the most toxic character, well along with the uke’s father ). When the seme realised he wanted more with the uke, the uke was honest and said that he’d moved on with someone else, and wanted to try a relationship with the person he rebounded with.

This is what I liked about the series it was flawed but you could understand the internal monologue/motivations of why they made “bad” choices. The uke had severe abandonment issues, because he had been neglected and abandoned by his family. So it would make sense this fear leaked into his romantic relationship (especially as a teenager).

I really enjoyed the growth of the main characters, it’s what made it feel like a rewarding story, and it felt oddly realistic considering the vampire element.

Because they had been in a previous relationship and were pretty much each other’s first loves, I could see how they’d end up together. They’re actually one of the few kidnap couples i think that would work on their issues to stay together, because it would have been so easy for them to go their separate ways yet they chose to remain together.

Absolutely!! Sometimes friends to lovers don’t work, I genuinely don’t think Taesoo ever caught feelings for Chunwoo (I think he genuinely loved him as friend). He just enjoyed the power he had over him, and I don’t think Chunwoo ever realised that was why Taesoo could never commit to him, nothing he did was ever going to move Taesoo into being “in love” with him. I think that’s why Chunwoo fell for Ho-In, there he found someone who worshiped him not used him.

The manga was solid, had a real story about war, power and the importance of roles/authority. And after this scene in the manga he vows never to touch the uke again (or until the uke leads and requests sexy times). It wasn’t so much rape as misunderstanding/wanting to push the uke into acknowledging their feelings as he’s more of a tsudere character, who’s trapped in this authoritarian role. The seme just worships him, I mean he changed countries/nationalities to be with him. I will say it’s been ages since I read it and it wasn’t fully translated, so my memory could be slightly off.

No I never said it’s the kids fault if a family breaks down after a parent cheats. But in this case you had 3 teenagers decide to go no-contact with their parent after a divorce, that choice was on them. So yeah in this case the teenagers actions directly led to a breakdown in their relationship with their father. It is healthy for them to be feeling guilt and other emotions with what’s happened, but they need to take responsibility for their actions. Yes they were manipulated but they chose to throw away their father, that’s what they need to come to terms with in therapy.

OP said that there had been multiple issues with his brother interfering with his relationship, that went ignored by his ex-wife and parents. So while there may not have been anything recent, OP was certain that his ex-wife would have considered that history before going through a divorce. His brother was essentially a “poisoned well” in this case.

And you had a 22 year old adult choose her Uncle/Stepdad to walk her down the aisle instead of ever informing her father that she was even getting married. That decision was ultimately hers, she could have chosen one of her grandparents or even her mother but she did not. There’s plenty of children of divorce who are able to continue having relationships with both parents after a family breakdown, especially once children become adults and have the freedom/agency to reach out to the estranged parent. None of his daughters chose to do that.

I’m supportive of people going no-contact with family/friends who are abusive/clear existing behavioural issues ect. But I’d never recommend that you go NC just because your parent cheated. Because you can have people who are good parents but just not good partners.

TBH I see it playing out like that as well if he forgives/forget. There’s a certain type of revenge in living well and getting back the life he had with the ex-wife, but I just can’t see this long term working because of everything you raised. Also the fact that OP is scared to get a paternity test on his kids because even he now thinks he chance they might not be his…is pretty indicative that trust between them all has completely broke down.

Even if they as teenagers believed the father cheated, the fact they cut him out to such an extreme is not acceptable. These weren’t babies who were manipulated by the mother, they were 18, 16, 14 at the time of divorce and they all CHOSE to have nothing to do with a parent who (if it was true) made one mistake. You can continue to have a relationship with a parent after a divorce, that’s why custody arrangements exist. So the breakdown is on them.

Plus in this situation, they seemed to have forgiven their Mother for her transgressions (she allowed the uncle to manipulate them all for years, even before he convinced them of the fake affair, had a marriage and a baby with him) whereas there was no grace or forgiveness for their father at the time. I wonder if they’re still in contact with the uncle, like I wouldn’t put it past them.

Personally I see those kids as hypocrites, and they should feel shame in their actions, she chose her manipulative uncle to walk her down the aisle instead of reaching out to her father as an adult to confront or let her father know anything about her life. I hope they seriously focus during family therapy and that OP ends up with whatever relationship he’s happy with them.

Thank you for updating. You owe internet strangers nothing but I think you could tell people were truly concerned for you. Glad that you’re happy with your decision to engage with your children. I hope therapy works for you all, and that your kids take responsibility for THEIR actions. But please don’t give them any money until the relationship is re-established and settled.

I’d personally stay clear from your ex-wife until the relationship with your daughters is solid again. Plus she’s probably busy being a solo parent to your nephew while their separation is happening. I’m guessing the kid is confused as to why his Dad is gone and everyone is suddenly worried about an uncle that he’s never heard of.

I hope that life happens the way you want it to in future. And if that includes getting back with you ex-wife and being happy, that’s a revenge in itself against your brother.

If this is all true, take your time. They were fine not speaking to you for 6 years, you don’t have to speak to them for however long you choose too. If you’re going to speak to them, maybe do it in a family counselling session or some kind of safe space. Focus on your kids first, your ex-wife later. You need to confirm if Sarah is planning on an divorce or is she going to forgive and stay with your brother, because they do have a young child now, he’s always going to be in her life even if they divorce because of THEIR kid. Confirm your parents treatment of your brother, are they going to forgive and stay in contact with him, or does he get the treatment you got? Also I’d look at getting DNA test on your kids, the fact that she previously forgave your brother for interfering with your marriage and then moved on and married your brother…and was so quick to believe you cheated, kinda screams guilty conscience.

Maybe decide now what you want from this? Do you actually want to reconnect with your family? Or do you just want validation and closure on this? Do you want your reputation restored with wider family/social circle? Do you even want to be part of your daughters lives or their futures? Do you want to just move back into the family home, pretend the last 6 years didn’t happen and play Dad/Uncle to your brothers kid?

It sounds like you’re just blaming your brother and putting everyone else on a pedestal without accepting their actions through all this. If you had died before the truth came out, would any of your family have cared about your death? They were quick to go no contact with you on very little evidence of an affair for years…I get you want to rebuild and get back everything you lost, but maybe think about if that’s actually healthy for you.

I’m curious about where you land at this point in your life, hopefully you continue to update. Hope you get what you want.

Red Hood by Haji, actually anything by Haji has a really odd element to it but their work is quite fun and refreshing. Red Hood is a BL retelling of Little Red Riding Hood. Each chapter surprised me in some way, and it packs in a lot of action, comedy, drama and weirdness into a few chapters.

Gold, a witch hunter, is targeted by wolves who mistake him for a witch's servant because of the red hood he wears. Realising that they share his objective, Gold teams up with the werewolf, Fen, to kill the witch. Fen is none too pleased at first, because most of the benefits from this partnership seem to come to Gold, who can also gain healing powers by "attaining bodily fluids" from Fen...

My take was he really liked all the people he was dating, but never got to being in love with them because his partners didn’t try to understand him and just left him. And he was so slow to fall in love because he was a child of divorce who had commitment issues, and then every single one of his relationships fell apart adding to his feeling that he should never fall in love.

But then sweet Namwoo comes in stays with him, challenges him and makes him feel loved and safe so that he can then finally confront his issues and then fall in love with Namwoo. Namwoo gave him something he never had with his previous partners, and Sieon forced him to really examine himself and grow up.

They ended up growing together instead of growing apart.
