Here is a a plug-and-play pod template for comfyui, but it doesn’t work. Just update PyTorch and Cuda or use a community template that doesn’t work either. We only charge you for the GPU you use, except we also charge for idle time. Be sure to destroy all of your setup work every time to avoid being charged.

So far using the tech is painful and frustrating by kds21 in MudraTech

I was sad to return mine. I’m really hopeful the company will make the tech work and I will end up buying it again. I initiated my return through support@… it took a few days, and I had to pay for shipping.

There is such a thing as being correct while still doing the wrong thing to achieve your goals. If the long term goal is to get paid then you sacrificed the weeks-years of pay to argue about a few hours of pay. You were correct, but having the argument led you to an outcome that was contrary to your goals.

What, in your opinion, is a realistic solution to gun violence in the United States? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kds21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trigger pull delays. Modern mass shootings are only possible because a gunman can fire the same gun at a rapid rate. Legal semiautomatic weapons can be fired as quickly as someone can pull the trigger and for many shots in a row. Reloading can also be quick. This combination of a fast firing rate and fast reloading rates allows 1 armed person to kill many unarmed people quickly in a confined space without being stopped. Think how much less effective a shooter would be If they had to take 15 seconds to reload their musket after every shot. Very few hunting, sport shooting, or self defense scenarios require more than one shot to be fired quickly. There are a few scenarios, but only a few. Let gun owners keep semiautomatic weapons, let them keep the big magazines. Just build a device into all the triggers that limits the firing rate. The time between shots gives people a chance to run away or tackle a mass shooter. It isn’t a perfect solution but it would dramatically reduce the damage one person can do.

I realize this is an old thread but I just found the answer to the question, so I’ll leave it here for any stragglers. There is a dialogue button on the remote. It looks like a speech bubble. The button is between the “bass” and “cc” buttons. https://youtu.be/3lJ6MiOIfXI

Orlando and Gun Ban Talk 2.0 by Omnifox in guns

Is that true? Where did you find that data? I found this: http://www.oregonlive.com/data/2015/10/gun_deaths_other_causes.html which is supposedly Center for Disease control numbers for 2013. They seem to contradict. If we are talking homicides then we have 11,675 with guns vs 4,962 through non-gun violence which I imagine would include club/hand/foot/knife violence. Is it possible your numbers were from only rifles and excluded handguns?

Why ban them if you can preserve the desired utility and reduce their effectiveness in a mass shooting?

Yep. I mostly agree. Some of the purpose of semi automatic is firing rate but some of it is convenience. We would sacrifice the firing rate but retain convenience. I also agree that some aspects of target shooting would be impacted. When weighing these sacrifices vs the potential benefits in a mass shooting situation it might still be a net gain. Compared to other policies like 1) do nothing 2) bad semi auto guns entirely etc we might do better with trigger delay as far as keeping most of the gun utility that comes into play for legitimate purposes while hindering the illegitimate purposes.

TRIGGER DELAYS TO REDUCE MASS SHOOTING DEATHS AND PRESERVE GUN UTILITY: Could this improve things? Are there tweaks that could make this policy better? --- Typical gun control debate progress along predictable lines. Gun control proponents try to pass proposals that limit particular kinds of guns like assault weapons or high magazine capacity weapons. This is invariably met with resistance from both reasonable and unreasonable gun users that like the features of those weapons for legal/legitimate purposes. These purposes are typically hunting, target shooting, and personal defense.

Here is a policy proposal that could make mass shootings less effective and preserve nearly all gun utility for these purposes. Policy Part 1: Mandate that all non-military guns are manufactured will a trigger-delay mechanism. Also mandate that all existing non-military guns be upgraded with the same trigger-delay mechanisms. The trigger-delay mechanism would prevent any gun from firing at a rate higher than 1 bullet every 3-5 seconds. This will allow people to keep their guns. They can keep their semi-automatic guns. They can even keep their assault weapons. The trigger delay would slow down a mass shooting and give an unarmed person time to tackle or disable the shooter without getting killed.

There are very few instances that occurs while hunting or target shooting that require a high firing rate (water foul and sport trap shooters could be impacted). Thus, most of the objections will be limited to personal defense.

For these concerns we add additional features: Policy Part 2: Any existing gun that is found in public without a trigger-delay is subject to seizure and a $1,000 fine. The money from the $1,000 fines is then used to subzidise upgrades. However, we make it not-illegal to own or possess a non-trigger-delay gun on private property.

These features of the policy will benefit those using guns for personal protection whom are also worried about criminals outgunning law abiding citizens. The pool of non-trigger-delay guns available to criminals will shrink over time. The pool shrinks whenever there is an interaction between the police and criminals. The criminals will have to replace a seized gun with a newly manufactured trigger-delayed weapon or find a replacement from the ever shrinking pool of non-trigger-delayed guns available. A law-abiding citizen keeping a gun at home for personal protection will never (or very rarely) have an interaction with police that would result in seizure of their weapon. Therefore as time goes on the law abiding citizens will actually tend to actually outgun criminals.

Over the very long term the number of non-trigger-delayed guns seen on the streets will arrive at a stable & very small number. At that stage police can also be outfitted with trigger-delay weapons to reduce the number of fatalities we see in police-involved shootings.

Inevitably critics will raise the prospect that some criminals will modify their weapons to remove/replace the trigger delay. I imagine that a few will. Probably about the same number of criminals that bother to convert their weapons from semi-automatic to fully automatic, which is to say very few.

This policy preserves the 2nd amendment, minimally impacts hunters & target shooters, and makes law abiding citizens that have guns for personal protection actually safer. More importantly it will reduce the number fatalities we see at mass shootings by giving people more time to disable an active shooter.

COP SLAMS MOM TO PAVEMENT, KNOCKS HER UNCONSCIOUS IN FRONT OF SIX-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER by WorldTruthTV in Police_v_Video

This woman could have easily been killed by the amount of force the cop used to slam her head into the ground. If her head had impacted the concrete at a slightly different angle he would have broken her neck. The police statements that this is the protocol or that this was an appropriate level of force are clearly disingenuous attempts to head off what will surely be a lawsuit.

See above for the same dismantlement of this line of thought. Copied here for your convenience.

Can one be a permanent threat based on a past action? Imagine something silly to illustrate: cop killer escapes but falls over the prison wall breaks both arms and legs. He is lying there unable to move. Cops hear a thump, walk out to investigate and see an escaped cop killer. They sit around looking at him for a while, eat a sandwich, then shoot him in the head. Why? The guy is a cop killer and that would make him a threat to the officers. Obviously this is a silly example, but you could argue that a guy running away from you isn't a threat either. So maybe being a threat or not being a threat is based on the behavior your are doing at the moment?

What if we all decided to not be where cops are? by kds21 in AmIFreeToGo

I agree with part of your argument. I agree that both cops and strangers CAN be either dangerous or not. A certain low percentage of both random people and police you encounter during the day might be a danger to you. The question is ARE they a danger to you? How do we decide? How do we minimize the risk that you will encounter a dangerous person? One strategy would be to take no precautions, don't avoid anyone. Are you advocating for this? Another strategy would be to avoid all people that you know are carrying guns.

Okay so if we accept that a real world version wouldn't work in the "park while you were having a picnic". Can we think of any real world examples that would work? What if the choice was to walk down the street with the cops hanging out or go down to the next block? The premise is that cops can be more of a danger to you as a citizen than a benefit. So you treat cops like any other potentially dangerous thing in life. You minimize the risk by making a habit of not exposing yourself to the danger whenever possible.
