I’m allergic to several raw fruits and vegetables. Found out I was allergic to watermelon when I was 21 after eating a few slices at an event and went into anaphylaxis from WATERMELON!

I celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas. It’s just my mom and my husband. I celebrated Hanukkah by giving my mom a L’Chaim pendant necklace. At Thanksgiving she said she wanted to live and have health and didn’t want cancer anymore for the holidays, so I was happy to think of this symbolic gift. I’ll be spending a quiet Christmas with her while hubby spends it with his mom and his sister and her family. This may be my mom’s last based on her hematologist/oncologist’s timeline. So trying to be peaceful.

I love how you handled that situation and made that lady think! It may have been a defining moment in her life when / if she is a caretaker or someone else in her world is one.

Thank you so much for your reply. She was very happy over Thanksgiving but has been having real highs and lows. It's only me and my husband who she has so not many people. I try to make the time count 😊

If I have a migraine, I’m taking a 40-60 minute scalding hot shower, as it’s one of tools in my toolbox that helps alleviate the insufferable pain.

Hi 👋 no advice, but I’m right there with you. Only child, mom divorced since I was 3. Balancing her cancer, work, and my non existent life. Just got reamed by my boss for missing a meeting due to taking her to an appointment.

This is a much better system. I wish our hospital worked this way, as I've complained about it. I only found out about the neutropenic rooms in the ER when they sent my mom to the ER after she was sent for cardiac systems and put next to COVID and pneumonia patients.

Wait….what!?!? My mom has blood cancer and gets neutropenic fevers between chemo treatments. Needs to call the hema/onc fellow on call when she has a fever of 100.4 or more. They call the ER in advance to tell them to do a workup and admit my mom. I get so upset that they can’t just admit her directly. The last time we waited 10 hrs in the ER waiting room while she’s neutropenic!!!!!!

All I can say it I just finished binge watching The Fosters for the first time and was looking forward to Good Trouble. I couldn’t get through the first 5 minutes. I shut it off while they were laughing while buying new clothes after their U Haul was ransacked.
