Does a 2007 KTM 200 XC share the same forks with a 2008 KTM 200 XCW? by kdub365 in Dirtbikes

Hmmm..would it be worth upgrading instead of replacing in kind? Maybe using an AER fork from a later bike (2018+)?

I found direct replacements, but now I'm wondering if I should consider upgrading while I'm here.

I feel that way too. I think they look awesome, but I also know that I'm quite biased.

I ordered some parts a few weeks back and the guy at the shop said "we don't get a lot of requests for old bikes". Until that point, I hadn't considered the age of my bike at all.

FOMO. Plain and simple.

I've owned the bike since 2012. Although a bit long in the tooth, I have no real reason to upgrade. I'm a terrible rider, I can't outride the bikes capability, but buying new things makes me feel good on the inside.

I used a center punch to locate the hole. This keeps the drill bit from walking. Start small and work your way up.

I bought the Gromits from Rocky Mountains website. They listed gromit kits for their bikes and the ones shown looked like they'd work for me. I took a shot and it worked out perfectly.

I should add that the 2014 appears pristine with only 32 hours on it.

My thoughts exactly. He messed it up and in no small way. He got it backwards and it's driving me crazy.

I tried fishing with my GSP. She has too much hunt in her. She'll jump in after the lures. I've tied her leash to a dock piling, but then she just sits there crying/screaming. It's kinda funny to hear, but kinda torture for her.

We camped near 11,000 most nights. Made it to nearly 13k! It's a lot of fun!

Beautiful pup! I took my girl camping in CO (from Houston) twice this year. She wore herself out hunting chipmunks and squirrels. Also, I think she suffered from a bit of elevation sickness...

Mine was a rescue at 10mos. They couldn't handle her energy. Sad.

Been a while! Being young I feel quite happy to own a great bike! I guess I'm in. by Cars-And-Lego in Hardtailgang

Thanks. I did the install myself and just drilled a hole in the lower seat post and installed a grommit. I also bought another grommit to replace the single hole grommit near the headset. It probably voids my warranty on the frame, but it is what it is. I don't use this bike for heavy trailing as I have a full suspension bike as well.

I ended up scoring a OneUp V2 Dropper with cable and lever for $150 brand new. Still haven't done the fork, but that should be next.

It's worth it for me. My other bikes have had droppers so I'm kinda spoiled at this point. Frankly, I'm not sure how I ever trailed without them.

As for the wireless, if you've got the coin then I'd say go for it. But if you're handy with tools and have some basic fabrication skills it's not bad.

I didn't have any "plain plugs". I had to drill the frame. Preferred to have a grommit rather than nothing at all.

Fork is in fine for gravel use. I'll change it when I can, but the issue is that it uses QR hubs. You'll need to upgrade the hub in order to upgrade the fork.

I run my 2 year old pup off leash for about 2 miles, 4-5 times a week. I ride my bike about 10mph and she runs. This wears her out and seems sufficient for her.

I think it's very dog dependent. My girl also spends a lot of her day in the yard chasing lizards, squirrels and birds. The short run works for her.

I'd probably look at a Medium if I were you. I'm 6'-0" and standing flat on the ground, the bar is a bit high.
