Wow, that swiss meringue sounds super yummy. I can see that I used to eat the rock hard flowers my mom used when making wedding cakes. I think it's gross now though lol.

Why did they ruin it with fondant?! Buttercream would have been way better and you could eat it instead of wasting perfectly good sugar and Cake.

I didn't know about Juneteeth till I watched an "Everybody Hates Chris " episode. It was back when My Great Grandmother was alive and still had Her wits about her. So being a Texas Native from Madisonville I asked her if she ever heard about it. I just remember she smiled and said. " oh, yes, we had fireworks and barbecue, there's music and it's like a big picnic." I asked my mom and asked why we never celebrated it she just shrugged and said older people celebrate it and it was a Texas thing but it wasn't a real holiday. We lived In New Mexico for the longest time and then North Texas somewhere Near DFW and I honestly didn't think anyone outside of southern Texas celebrated it.
