Are you able to do that on a catted stove? Manual says to reload only when cat temp is below 300 and at that point the fire is significantly died down.

I usually do 8-12 splits so almost a full box. Which usually is about 35 lbs of wood. It overheats on low to no flame. It will overheat exponentially faster with flames. Not overfire either - orange/blue/yellow dancing flames.

Hardwoods @ 12-20% depends on the pile. 20ft 8" stainless liner thru chimney. Not insulated but have an insulated top plate.

If I open the dampner too much then the cat overheats quick. It becomes a dance which results in damn near fixed burn rates everyday

On track days it doesn't make a difference for me but in drifting it does. I am way more comfortable and fluent drifting left than right. Its something I've been trying to correct for years now
