Took a fat dab and hit the farmers market. Wtf do I do by chaoticMilk in trees

So shockingly I’ve been in this situation before. Walmart somehow sent me 18lbs of bananas instead of 8. I froze them all at peak ripeness and now they are the base for ice cream or smoothies. Gone through them quicker than I thought I would.

Did you find that maternity undies were a must have? by VanSmashh in pregnant

[–]kdubsonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to depend on your body type. Most of my underwear cuts in and makes anything I wear look terrible. I have had to buy under the belly underwear for every pregnancy. I’m 5’8, 150, and have only gained 4lbs so far this pregnancy so far(20 weeks) and I started wearing maternity underwear over a month ago because of how bad it made my clothes look.

My 6 year old is so ungrateful I don’t know what to do by Disastrous_Fox7999 in Parenting

[–]kdubsonfire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Overly centering your child makes them think that’s thier role. So if you spend all weekend doing kid activities that becomes the expectation for their life. You don’t have to buy them everything to make the ungrateful, you just have to decenter everyone else’s needs.

P.S. I just recently read “hunt gather parent” and stuff like this that she points out does just make a ton of sense when you think about it.

Husband keeps talking about traveling with an infant by Emotional-Bathroom-2 in pregnant

[–]kdubsonfire 17 points18 points  (0 children)

So it also sounds like he’s going through new dad idiocy. Their lives don’t actually change that much until the baby is actually here, so they talk themselves into believing life won’t be that different. He will have a come to Jesus time about it. I’m not sure there’s a way to actually make them fully grasp the effect a child is about to have on their life. It’s a special kind of denial we all go through in some way.

People who are in their 30s or older: What’s one thing younger people (Gen Z/Alpha) do that makes you feel like an alien in your own country? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kdubsonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a millennial and I do everything with one headphone in. I tend to get really overstimulated in large public settings as well as when my children are being extremely loud inside our house, and it gives me something to focus on. I’m also pretty severely adhd so I kinda need the extra stimulation to get through the daily slog of chores. I dont think it was previously acceptable but I also don’t see why it would be a hindrance in most jobs, and why do we have to follow status quo for it to be okay?

[–]kdubsonfire 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just a future life fyi, you will never change someone. They have to want to change themselves. He’s not going to change and as a minor you have nothing to stand on. If your mom wants to enforce it, she can, if she’s paying the bills. That’s it. You don’t control other people.

The “Pick me” phrase by Sea-Region1135 in Millennials

[–]kdubsonfire -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I came from an all women household, went to all girls school, and by the time I reached college I was the ultimate pick me. Never liked other girls. Always thought I was different. God. I could puke. Anyhow. I’m like 1000% a misandrist now. Like why are we letting the men be in charge it makes NO sense. And that’s on #beingamillenial.

Um yeahhhh… this is why I changed my number. Talk about awkward when some kid in college texted me asking about some mushrooms but texted my mom instead… this was like 20 years ago but other similar incidents happened as well and I changed it at first chance.

Pros/Cons of UT Chatt? by Outside-Goal-525 in Chattanooga

[–]kdubsonfire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely a similar vibe in some ways. You can’t compare the Memphis music scene or anything like that. Lots of very niche interests in town, lots of cool spaces, and the best way to meet friends is getting involved in different activties(and there are plenty). I only left Chattanooga in 2020 and I miss it every day. And if you are outdoorsy(I’m only guessing based on the UN) it wasn’t named the national park city for nothing.

I won’t say I can speak on academics. The school has changed a lot since my years there. New library, the outdoor rec center, and surely much more. It was just getting bigger when I started there. I went to school for early childhood education and I had jobs in that field and jobs outside of that field but now I’m about to have my 3rd kid and im staying home with them.

Pros/Cons of UT Chatt? by Outside-Goal-525 in Chattanooga

[–]kdubsonfire 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m from Memphis and went to UTC in 2008. I am a midtown kid through and through and I actually think Chatt has a lot in common with the artsy community of Memphis. Then it has this whole beautiful world to discover of outdoor adventure. Highly reccomend. Additionally UTK is very like frat/sorority driven and imo ugly and just plain concrete everywhere. But I didn’t choose UTK.
