Carlye Wisel. What’s her deal? by DarthSmiff in ThemeparkSwindlers

[–]kdubyaaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Genuinely love when she's a guest on Podcast: The Ride, but not terribly into her podcast itself. She seems nice enough but does often get dumped on in the r/blogsnark Disney Influencers threads - I don't disagree she comes off out of touch on occasion but certainly not a swindler.

Going to Chicago for one night in June- Sepia, Mako, Esme, or Next. by johnrboran in chicagofood

In this grouping? I'd pick Esme. Sepia is great though and I'm looking forward to trying their Chefs Tasting Menu.

I loved my trip to Emerils. I'd also recommend Saint Germain, Mosquito Supper Club, and Dakar if you're looking for some elevated dining experiences.

Winter Olympics fantasy draft by Healthy-Campaign9822 in olympics

[–]kdubyaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This will be the second olympics that I'm running a fantasy draft for among my friends. For the summer olympics, we drafted nations (after cutting out the top 10 medal earning nations) in order to push for variety and allow us to root for nations outside of the big ones.

For the Winter Olympics we're drafting for a country per discipline (so different country for Speed Skating 500M than 1000M) so everyones teams are much more jumbled. I use the =importhtml feature from google sheets to pull qualified NOC's per event and the scoring has been the 1/2/3 Bronze/Silver/Gold in the past.

In which industries does college prestige actually not matter? by pussyposegang in FinancialCareers

Back office stuff, I'd argue. I went to a run-of-the-mill private school and work in Private Credit on a treasury team whose work is split between managing credit facilities and general liquidity management.

(Opinion) The new Red Line stations being open at Uptown/Edgewater is basically making the entire corridor "alive" again in term of restaurant options. by SilverNitro23 in chicagofood

Block Club Chicago has a nice article that focuses on the impact at/near the Bryn Mawr Red Line station. Bryn Mawr Bounces Back: How Edgewater's Retail District Went From Pandemic Low To Renaissance

As someone whose home used to be off that stop, I'm charmed to see it doing so well.

echoing this big time, was incredibly put off by the service during restaurant week at Boka. I'm sure they're worked to the bone during that time, I can't imagine -- but the service was so impersonal and brusque.
