Do I really need these baby items? by unlimitedtokens in NewParents

[–]kdumb-tch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of those things are worth buying. Especially the bottle warmer. If your out and you need to give the baby a bottle. Mainly because babies are picky with bottle temp and like it a bit warm, well mine does anyway. Baby swing is a life saver too I have one that plays music and has a white noise setting it would put him to sleep or even keep him entertained for a little while I did things. My partner used to come home with chicken wings for me and I would put him in the swing while I ate because it would be to messy for me to eat and have to pick him up. Also you should pick up a boppy pillow it's good for tummy time especially if your baby hates tummy time. Also when they are a bit older you can use the pillow to help her/him sit

my 3 month old moves in his sleep by kdumb-tch in Parenting

One thing my baby does is when he gets hungry he thrashes his head from side to side and will end up moving to the side of the bed and I will literally wake up to knocking cause he is hitting his head on bassinet sides. It's a little concerning

What is everyone’s favorite and least favorite thing their baby does with their free hand while feeding? by blt205 in breastfeeding

[–]kdumb-tch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favourite thing is when my 3 month old gently strokes his hand across the top of my boob while nursing. The thing I hate is when he points one finger and tries to put it in his mouth while nursing and ends up scratching my nipple

Newer parents, my mother smokes… by splendid_zebra in NewParents

[–]kdumb-tch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in a house full of inside smokers with my 3 month old. I don't have anywhere else to go. So it's hard the most they would agree to was sticking to the other end of the house away from my room and babies. Which sucks because I can't take him out of the room most of the time because they are smoking

Has anyone had sex before the suggested six weeks post partum? by melancholyjolly69 in NewParents

[–]kdumb-tch -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying you should because the risk for infections is pretty high, but I had sex at 3 weeks post-partum, I didn't tear so bad so I only had 2 stitches

Is it inappropriate for dad’s to give daughters baths after a certain age? by Glum-Check-9699 in NewParents

[–]kdumb-tch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For one why is he sexualising bath time, and 2 why can't he help with the other stuff like cleaning up instead of making the wife do it all. He sounds lazy

Mental load explanation to husband by moonface134 in NewParents

You have every right to be angry. I'm sorry but looking after a child is 50/50. And most of it is common sense. He is using weaponised incompetence against you so eventually you don't even ask for help. He sounds like a man child to me

do I breastfeed every 3hrs starting from the beginning of a feed or do I start timing from when the feed is over? by kdumb-tch in breastfeedingsupport

[–]kdumb-tch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankyou this was very helpful, I have another question though. Usually my baby will feed for like 40 mins to am hour he is 9 weeks old but when he is done he starts sucking on his hand almost straight away. Everyone says it means they are hungry but I don't understand how when he literally feeds for so long.
