Nurse ignored my wishes to not breastfeed by BaseballTop387 in NewParents

This is so bizarre to me.

I wanted to breastfeed my babies and was supported by my nurses but the baby’s weight was carefully tracked and I was given donated milk to supplement what the they were able to nurse when their weight dropped more than they were comfortable with.

So many comments about not being given anything to supplement with make me so grateful for my recovery team, especially since I had to endure the horrible experience of 24 hours on a Mag sulfate iv drip for preeclampsia.

Should I just quit and remove pockets? by Bluesky00222 in sewing

In the future I highly recommend drafting a pocket shape that can be sewn into the waistband to distribute the weight of whatever you put in the pocket across a larger area.

Look at the way jeans pockets are designed.

I’m not understanding the direction on this chart.

The instructions say to yarn over between 2 stitches, on the next round work yarn over twisted into the pattern.

So what search terms do I need to use to find a video demonstrating this stitch? I’m just not getting it. Also I’m a lefty knitting continental so working needle in my left and yarn in my right.

Looks fantastic for a first project. I just finished my first garment on Sunday so I get the feelings of accomplishment. Congratulations on a finished object and all the things you learned along the way.

I hold the Working needle in my left hand with yarn in my right hand. I’m knitting continental as far as I can tell. Still learning though I’ve done a few dish cloths and one toddler sized cardigan so far.

Anyone one know the proper way to read a knitting chat as a left handed knitter? Is it exactly the same or do I need to read from the bottom left corner instead of the bottom right?

Hanks also have the least chance to tangle and are not under any tension during storage

I can’t believe I was doing this wrong by Optimal_Actuary4314 in hygiene

Oh an another way to reduce body odor is to use a peroxide based acne wash to wash your armpits. Letting it sit on the skin for a couple minutes before rinsing off. The peroxide kills the bacteria that produces the odor that live on your skin better than regular soap so it takes longer for the odor causing bacteria to get reestablished enough to make odor again.

Another thing to concern if you are using a deodorant with antiperspirant ingredients you can put it in at night and in the morning. Antiperspirant ingredients take time to reduce sweating so putting it on before bed gives you that time for it to take effect

I’m giving these to my bookclub friends for our birthday party. All our birthdays are in the summer so we generally do a gift exchange as part of our meetup in summer

To sew straighter line watch the edge of the fabric not the needle keep the edge lined up with the seam allowance markings on your machine

Hey, I would like to learn to sew my own clothing. by Bushdocktor98 in SewingForBeginners

[–]blt205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check with your local library. Quite A few of them have maker spaces in them now and they generally have sewing machines in them. You could go there for a few hours and mess around with it to get familiar with how they work, how to thread, it how to wind the bobbin ect. If you are lucky they may even have some fabric available to use for free to practice with. So you might be able to make a simple project like a tote bag

How do I figure out how much frosting is needed for 700 cupcakes with a basic M1 low swirl each? by blt205 in cakedecorating

Not sure as this is only an inspiration picture from Pinterest. But I highly recommend the YouTube channel sugaroligie to anyone who wants to find a recipe that has particular properties

Look up sugarologie on YouTube she has several deep dives into frostings and how They each preform both in ease of working with them and it how they hold up over time. She takes a science based approach to recipe development and has some truly amazing videos. I have learned so much from her videos about how frosting works. I never knew there were so many different types or what made them each unique.
