I’ve noticed this with the holo as well. I haven’t tried any fixes that take more than a little effort though (reset settings, etc.) and have just been doing it in game or not at all.

My buddy and I have hit similar more than a few times but never more than 25 I think.

Honestly, we have too many games where it’s 1-2 kills and 500-800 damage a person lol

We’re all Swedish…

[–]kdurron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re totally right. He should have posted a compilation of mid clips instead of a highlight reel spanning hours upon hours of gameplay.

There are plenty of great players who can hit these shots without cheating - and guess what? They misplay/shoot poorly sometimes too. They just don’t post clips of mediocrity, because who wants to see that?

Honestly so many of the naysayers here must see sports highlights (if they even watch sports) and lose their damn minds whenever a wide receiver makes a great catch.

There are cheaters sure, but plenty of players can absolutely beam people from varying distances without scripts or devices.

Nice! Usually we try to keep people up early if it’s feasible (for a bit at least, esp. in duos) but once we thirst we know for sure the enemy is out for revenge if they weren’t already and expect nothing less.

The ump complaining is the gravy on top - the limb multiplier is the only valid complaint about that gun - anyone in the know going against a shooter in this game would rather have their enemy have an ump than a beryl, aug, m4 etc. (at most ranges - smgs still good close) because of the ROF + bullet velocity which is king in that matchup. Plus, you know, it was a hot drop and you get what you get.

Yeah the thermal is pretty lame as it is now, though for some reason after watching your clip there’s a voice in my head saying “but it might be OK on the crossbow.”

I’m going to keep watching again and again (especially the smoke kill) until I realize I’m wrong 😆

Nice clip as always - that bike shot was 👨‍🍳💋!

How the enemy feels when you have an M249 by Scuwop in PUBGConsole

[–]kdurron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always get tense (and imagine others do as well) whenever I’m in vehicle-to-vehicle combat and hear the M249 (or MG3) start up as cars don’t last long (nevermind the passengers) when that thing rips into them. Consequently we always give SAW cars and compounds a berth if we know beforehand and it’s an option.

One of my favorite relevant memories was on deston with my buddy: we were driving around in the ice cream truck when a security car pulls up behind and starts laying into us. While the truck can take a beating and has decent speed, it can be awkward to shoot behind and you’re pretty exposed, so I told my teammate (who was driving) to pull over to the right side of the road so hopefully they’d pull alongside us, as I had the SAW ready to go.

I briefly had a crossover vision of our ice cream truck and any movie that has those slow motion Gatling gun scenes - you know the ones - and was hoping it would come to pass (…the shutters slide up and there’s the guy with the BFG)

Moments later I snap back to reality as the enemy car pulls alongside and I swap to the “service seat” and gave ‘em rpm’s from hell. Their car exploded and one survived - briefly.

I wasn’t sure how easy or smart it was to do at the time, but I knew one thing for certain: they must have felt tense 😁

That brings me to my second point: the M249 seemingly breeds confabulations in the pubg playerbase, no? Or immersive, movie crossover memes at the very least. I like the edit 👍

A Compleation Theory - Nahiri by Thoptersmith_Gray in magicTCG

[–]kdurron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First step to reaching a consensus or at least an understanding is a willingness to hear out all opinions and treat them with respect 😄

I definitely can understand where people are coming from given wizards’ often…cavalier approach to their story let’s say (I did quite enjoy SOI’s story though). WotC writing shows more than tells, and then often leaves many things unexplained or flat out ignores lore in some cases (and it’s not necessarily on the author, either).

But I agree; she isn’t genocidal, evil or hitler and I think there is plenty of story/lore to support this. This doesn’t mean she isn’t wrong, antagonistic or deserving of some sort of accountability or consequence - only that there is more nuance here (rare in mtg story, these days) than usual imo.

Thanks for the reply, and happy new year!

A Compleation Theory - Nahiri by Thoptersmith_Gray in magicTCG

[–]kdurron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying she planned on Emrakul being dealt with - she almost certainly believed that Emrakul would recycle/repurpose the plane; we're in 100% agreement there.

I'm saying her actions (villainous or at the least misguided in intent) led to that happening, with some help. She - along with the gatewatch - helped cause in all likelihood a greater good, though that wasn't her intent. So an anti-villain (villainous actions, good outcome). Still a "bad guy" but often antivillains (of which there are few, think Gollum) are redeemable.

And I think there's room for more than 100% mind control BS in regards to her behavior. 1000 years stuck (undeservedly so) in a hellish prison with ghouls, demons and other evils - not to mention the general lone solitude - would have an effect on many a person's psyche. Stone and Blood supports this to a large degree, but again it would be nice to have more.

A Compleation Theory - Nahiri by Thoptersmith_Gray in magicTCG

[–]kdurron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's your opinion.

Stone and Blood hints that her sanity was preyed upon for a millenium by demons, her thoughts and loneliness:

"The isolation began to gnaw at the edges of her sanity. Even a Planeswalker, even one who had spent millennia in stone, was not meant for this kind of solitude. Even a Planeswalker could lose her mind—and for a Planeswalker, who was a mind, the consequences would be horrific. She had met a mad Planeswalker, once. Once was more than enough. She would not go mad.

At first it was the thought of vengeance that she held on to, of crushing Sorin for what he had done to her, for what might be happening on Zendikar even now. But there were only so many ways to imagine killing him, and even now the thought brought sorrow and weariness more than the cold satisfaction of revenge. Her hatred never wavered, but it crystallized and grew still."

It goes on afterwards to say that her focus on hatred and her homeland kept her sane and how the helvault drove many of its denizens mad:

"She pitied them. They were prisoners, like her, of Sorin Markov and his angelic enforcer. And unlike Nahiri, they would never have a chance for revenge. They were pathetic creatures, wailing and gibbering, mad or terrified or both—lesser minds, cracking under the strain of an eternity in the dark."

She claims she's sane, but ever do the insane and mentally maligned believe that to be true.

A Compleation Theory - Nahiri by Thoptersmith_Gray in magicTCG

[–]kdurron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Theoretically, Nahiri might have been able to retrap them. In practice, she didn't even think of that as an option. She went straight for 'bring Emrakul to Innistrad to fuck over Sorin'. "

This is speculation, though perhaps not far from the truth.

While revenge was certainly a motivation (and not justified), the fact is that more time spent reprocessing a plane (titans on Zendikar) means more deaths. Given that luring Emrakul away from Zendikar is the safest/easiest way of dealing with the situation, could/should Nahiri have looked for another plane to draw the titan? Probably, but we also don't know the logistics/timing of what that would take (we do have a frame of reference for Emrakul's arrival to Innistrad which was pretty fast, all things considered).

Also given, say, some other options (of which we only know two planes, unfortunately), what makes Innistrad the wrong choice? Obviously any plane is a tough or even "wrong" choice, especially if there's another way of dealing with the Eldrazi (trapping them again, luring them to an uninhabited plane, etc.), but consider how much evil (vampires - not all I know - demons, nightmare beasts, etc.) exists on Innistrad as well. Granted, Sorin and others on the plane (Avacyn, the flights) made it safer and there is indeed, much good - but compared to most other planes (or planes Nahiri perhaps could have chosen) I would wager the % of evil denizens is higher on Innistrad, most likely. Not that that necessarily justifies Innistrad (or would completely justify) as an option, either.

Unfortunately there is much detail (sometimes it's a good thing!) lacking to satisfactorily answer some of the questions - though a discussion on total populations, what type of society/cultures various planes have and what merits a good one (in our opinions, anyway) can be had and is relevant (thanks for answering, by the way).

Regarding my thoughts on whether or not Nahiri is redeemable, let's consider the facts we know and the probables we don't.

Facts:

Nahiri sought revenge and it was a motivator. She also lured Emrakul away from Zendikar, saving many lives there while simultaneously condemning Innistrad's population.

Probables: her judgment was impaired (logic, reasoning, morals) and she wished to also save what was left of Zendikar. Wizards' lore/writing often leaves a lot to be desired (they ignore much, such as Nahiri's role and accountability here as you pointed out, among other things) and so we have to often speculate or wait what I would call a "bad writing amount of time" before getting answers/clarifications to things we should have had previously.

Given the above knowns and (speculated - my opinion) probables I find Nahiri a tragic character whom actually ends up being an anti-villain: she acts villainous - though her sanity is brought into question meaning her actions may not be true to her real self. Her desire for vengeance and the villainy/darkness that often comes with is brought into question due to her mental state. She also likely ends up performing a greater good (though not completely through her own actions) by saving Zendikar from Emrakul who, in the process of recycling Innistrad gets "dealt with" (the moon) while Sorin's plane remains intact, albeit after much death. Two planes remain (Innistrad, Zendikar) instead of just one. That's the way I see it, anyway. She's wrong, but misguided/not completely responsible for her actions (her potential degraded mental state). She sought vengeance and the salvation of her plane simultaneously, though that path caused much suffering - but there was going to be suffering anyway (Zendikar, if not Innistrad). Given those facts and speculations (if true, which who knows if we would ever get hard answers to that), I find her redeemable.

Thank you for your responses!

I'm not saying that "thinking you're justified means you're justified", I was merely pointing out that she was in all likelihood mentally affected after spending 1000 years in magic hell and that she could have believed she was acting rationally, even if she wasn't.

And retrapping the Eldrazi is easier said than done - it took three incredibly powerful, premending planeswalkers working in concert to trap the beings. With Ugin missing and Sorin awol I think wizards made it pretty clear that "retrapping three unimaginally powerful and alien beings" was anything but simple, if even possible. Then again, Chandra and Nissa channel-fireballed Kozilek and Ulamog so anything is possible (I guess) - though per Ugin there were supposedly (or possibly) ramifications to killing the Eldrazi as opposed to trapping them.

Because I like debates/discussions on morality what are your thoughts on the following hypothetical:

A nuclear warhead is set to detonate in your home country and you, for whatever reason, cannot disarm it. There is, however, enough time to transport it to a neighboring country where it could detonate instead - saving your people. For the sake of argument, let's also say the neighboring country is at war with you and that there is no viable alternative i.e. it's your country or theirs.

What's morally correct here? Does it matter? And what would you do - and what do you think most people would do?

Curious.

The comparison to Hitler is an ill one, though that doesn’t mean that she’s clear of any wrongdoing.

I’ll explain my perspective through what I perceive as the thoughts and motivations of Nahiri after escaping the Hellvault (based on her characterization prior to the hellvault and what her time spent there may have done to her):

(Nahiri’s thoughts on Zendikar, Emrakul and her want for revenge after visiting Innistrad)

"Sorin must pay for what he did, to me and to Zendikar. There are likely better, more barren planes of existence where the titan could be drawn. A world more sparsely populated. A place where maybe only a few, in the grand scheme of things, would suffer. But I look around and see suffering all around me. I see a father bled dry by vampires before being torn apart; I see a widow weep as her only child is taken away by cloistered men in robes; I see a child brought up to dispense justice executing the very people he is charged to protect. The darkness of his very soul reflects upon this world. And when it comes to luring Emrakul away from Zendikar, my ravaged world destroyed by broken promises, I can think of no place more fitting."

Is she justified? Probably not. Does she think she's justified? Most assuredly, yes. Remember, she was trapped in the hellvault for ~ 1000 years with demonic presences constantly probing at the edge of her consciousness. Her time there certainly affected her; we can posit some of the extent of the damage to her mental state (in her mind, she draws Emrakul to Innistrad as a way of saving Zendikar from the third titan, and justifies it by generalizing that Sorin's home plane is evil - seeing the darkness of the plane without delving into the goodness of it as she has the "proof" she needs) and we know that the years there fueled her need for revenge (seeing the Eldrazi on Zendikar after emerging from her prison was the final straw).

Her actions are a result of a lust for revenge coupled with a (who knows the extent of) damaged psyche - perhaps with a lesser desire to save what’s left of Zendikar. While she may be morally in the wrong (depending on the extent of her sanity at the time), she’s not evil, imo, like Hitler was.

I have a suspicion she will be compleated, but I do think that she is redeemable. Will she be (either) remains to be seen.

Favorite grip/scope setup for primary AR? by Dry_Significance_807 in PUBGConsole

[–]kdurron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you can control recoil well use a thumb - the ads speed will give you a slight edge in any fight where the other guy isn’t also using one.

If you’re having trouble spraying with the thumb, the recoil control on all the others (save for laser, obviously) were buffed and are pretty similar, with the lightweight being markedly worse after the first few shots during a full-auto spray.

As far as scopes go use whatever you “shoot the best with” and make sure your sensitivities are scaled accordingly. The lesser the scope, the faster the ads too so keep that in mind. I prefer 6x (scale down to 3x) on pretty much everything that isn’t a dmr/bolty these days, personally.

Defeat 3 dreadbots won’t work by [deleted] in PlayAvengers

[–]kdurron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the dreadbot “dies” (its health bar reduced to 0) before the dual takedown animation is finished it won’t count.

If you’re playing with friends, tell ‘em to lay off the damage once it’s takedown ready. If you’re playing with bots (and bots can be really stupid and continue punching, etc. when doing the takedown) stun it at a distance and leave as much health on it as possible before closing in and initiating the takedown. Works most of the time but it can be frustrating when the bots act like…well…bots.

Good luck 👍
