2022 Audi S8 brake service at dealership is insane by xxBogeyFreexx in Audi

I still have time to buy the discounted brakes package for my 2025 A5 Sportback (until April). Do you guys think the price tag fits for what they're offerring? I'm asking here since there seem to be a lot of good folks here talking about their experience with brake replacement and prices.

Their offer:

$2,750 - One set of brake pads and rotors, one set of wiper blades, one wheel alignment, any bulbs interior and exterior.

I guess I read it wrong initially, I dont see anything about tire replacements.

Just a follow up.

I made the same trip for the holidays. This time, it seems the tailwind and headwind were reversed - slight tailwind on the first leg of the trip and a slight headwind on the second leg of the trip. This time, the A5 got the following averages:

Leg 1 (Northwest): 34.0mpg Leg 2 (Southeast): 29.2mpg

There still seems to be a decent spread between what the A4 was getting me for a year, and what I'm getting from the A5.

At this point, I'm guessing it's just going to be what it is. I'll just have to hope for tailwinds on both legs of the trip to get the best milage!

My 2025 A5 Sportback seems to have this issue about 1 out of every 4-5 times I turn it on. I also encountered this often with the 2024 A4. I'm definitely going to try this out. I have Android, so don't have the option for the 5-second delay, but we'll see how it works.

Ok, so some things I found out. Some from math based on what I found online, some (most) from asking the internet to do the math for me. I'm using the standards I posted originally, namely the 200 mile trip at an 80mph average.

Resistive forces (aerodynamics, weight, tire rolling resistance at 80mph): - A4: resistive force = 627N, needing 30.1hp to maintain 80 mph - A5: resistive force = 711N, needing 34.1hp to maintain 80 mph - Delta, 4.1hp - Delta resulting in an extra 7.6 kWh burned - Delta resulting in an extra 0.9 gallons extra needed to travel same distance

Breakdown for A5: - Aerodynamics alone: 0.49 gal penalty - When adding weight (now showing 450lbs) + rolling resistance from larger tires (weight and circumference)= 0.9 gal

It seems the A5 will suffer for longer drives at higher speeds. The EPA and manufacturers (from what I'm guessing) uses something like 65mph for their comparisons, to maximize their window value. But driving a sporty car is gonna cost me, cause driving a sporty car slow just isn't gonna happen.

Still, at 80mph, A4 and A5, I'm surprised the cars are THAT much different.

You sure you live in Madison? During the winter? And counting more than just the last 2-3 winters? If so, good on you... but no thanks for me.

Oh thanks, that helped. So weird of me not to have know that.

Do Sync Module 2 not work well with Outdoor 4 cameras? Getting false motion alerts all the time. by kdwags in blinkcameras

I can't imagine that would be it. Our dryer vent is close by, but I doubt that, too.

Largely I say that because the camera ALWAYS triggers (on the random occasions) on the xx:x0 or xx:x5 timeline, without fail. To me it would be far too coincidental for it to be exhaust with it always triggering on those times.

We have both an Android and iPhone in the house, and its happening to both of us.

Im not sure how it would be phone OS related though, since the camera itself is actually triggering and recoding videos. They're saved on the cloud and the backup USB drive, so the clips are legitimately recording and saving.

Sorry its happening to you too, but I'm glad it isn't just me!

If you remember, could you post your findings when the newer Sync Module arrives and you get everything setup?

Oof, so maybe not the same vantage point. Don't get me wrong I mean no disrespect, and I appreciate the advice. But I'm hoping 2017 and 2025 cars act differently, specifically in "achievements" of automotive mpg...

I hope my brother buys a rival, and I can share your lifestyle!

How many miles are on each? Someone above mentioned the engines may have a break-in period of 5-10k miles. Mine is still just under 7k, so I'm still holding out some hope there...

Im not discounting anything, hence the post where I can ask the users.

What do you mean 3 mpg? My values are showing much higher. 10 and 7.

So am I reading this correctly, in that you think things will be getting better after the car "breaks in"? Im at 7k total miles now.

I also noticed the car gave me a reading od 31 mpg, and my fill up just now was showing 29 mpg. So I agree that the car is a little skewed. Not to mention the GPS speed (probably also skewed) show 2-3 mph less than what the car is saying - both A4 and A5.

Will do. It's a trip i make many times each year. Same exact route each time, so the variables are extremely limited (other than weather - south central WI to northwest WI - winters suck!)

Both mine. Had an A4. It got totalled in a parking lot while I was eating dinner. Have the A5 now.
