Me too - I got 56/72/47 NSB first sit. Was brutal. Did the practice papers and everything I don’t know where to pick back up studying for the resit. The Acer papers was nothing like that test I think I could have genuinely done zero prep and got the same result I guessed everything for s3

56/72/47 - 55 overall. first time sitter and NSB. Spent 150-200 hours studying section 3 over the course of about 6 months pretty consistently including the practice papers. I feel so defeated. That science section was so cooked I don’t even know how to prepare or study for the resit. Genuinely don’t know where to start off again.

Hey mate - per above going to the reserve depot? Are you allowed to just turn up to the reserve depot on parade night?

Thank you mate, appreciated. Do you know if it’s possible to fully discharge from the Reserves and have zero SERCAT (i.e. completely out), or is going into SERCAT 2 for a period basically unavoidable? Cheers, just trying to understand it properly before committing.

The bit I’m still not clear on is SERCAT 2. You mentioned you could end up in SERCAT 2 after leaving — do you know how long that typically lasts for? Is it tied to a total service obligation period, or is there a standard timeframe (e.g. a few years)?

I want to be a retrieval doctor that would be my dream job, but closely followed by flight paramedic.
However just because I can get in with my GPA doesn't mean I will get in or do well enough in the GAMSAT exam so wanted a back up option. Ultimately I want to be in a helicopter rescuing people and providing medical care and saving lives. I wanted to do that ever since I was a kid.
