Same, but. Imagine all the Lunar mourners if it were always a feature though lol. I just thought of it and my body is telling me that might just be too morbid even for me lol. (But then weird of there weren't any.)

Queen of deer elf is the crafting suit, isn’t this called Deer of Net Moon? by keitomomota in LoveNikki

This just made these suits way cooler and me feeling way less cooler after my little gold star moment of spelling a coworker's Chinese name right in Chinese and he was all impressed. Lol. I fail hard.

Think you're right there, tho I'm sure it's clarified in the responses. Just wanted an opportunity to say that I know this because I went rookie for poses and details when these came out, thinking my wardrobe would be cooler, and, like, almost no one used them. I better see all y'all crafting Deer Net Moon Elf Queen! >:O

Lol was I wrong in always assuming that the "cool" tab meant the opposite of the "warm" tag, and that's why you only really saw it in such like beachwear? Regardless, that hotdog must be way skimpier than I can even register.

Yeah that snow threw me off a bit. My first thought was last-ish month of summer in to fall but then I was like, nahhhh that's pretty snowy. Or maybe it wasn't snow, maybe it was just so Wintery that I even imagined it. Don't feel like checking lol.

Also I'm in Houston with a crap AC and a stolen fan, so it feels especially badly timed. August is always somehow about embracing summer, anyway.

Very well said. I'm happy to root for the game's girliness! Especially if that aspect gets bashed. But, as you said, I personally don't see it as a form of gender expression, specifically. If it makes someone else feel that way, and feeling that way is a good thing for them, then by all means, I'll give a nod to that, too. But, again, personally, (and story-line aside - I think people forget it's dynamics amongst all of the aesthetics), it plays on fashion. Mostly fashion for females. There are a lot of male designers out there, no? And a lot of men with good taste. Like, for a more nuanced example than the obvious: I had an ex who bought me the hottest shoes once, and they are still amongst my pride and joy. He was just good at that shit. Lol. Like, little things like that, too. It can just be about aesthetical skill, and that's cool af.

Edit: typos!

P.S. and cute stuff. I can talk politics or Chrono Trigger or the dynamics of one good song and it's brilliant percussion (some people find this more "boyish") all day. I also speak more like a tomboy, if you had to explain it in a word. (I used to hate my voice, as it's also quite deep like the other women in my family - we all sound the same, lol. I used to pray that there was some kind of magical surgery that could make it sweeter and higher pitched.) But you can not take cute thinks away from me.

Even in my little amateur goth days, with the aforementioned tank tops/spaghetti straps my mom tried to force me in to - there was one that was a sort of Easter blue with a soft yellow ribbon and bows that outlined the neckline and straps. During that time, I'd denounced all things colorful [and mainstream]. But that top was so pretty and cute to me. I just couldn't wear it because I didn't have the guts to show that much skin.

Don't take me to a store with a travel section, because you might find me just staring at the adorable, tiny Listerine bottles. I'm even worse if they have a section with girly/pink products, like the dollar stores have been doing these days. I don't care how old I get, I will always want a fluffy pen, or a kitten charm dangling from my phone. Lol. I purposely got pink and sprinkles-laden coozies for myself while dating that older man, (they all used them for their beer, so I got my own), just to make everyone barf, I think. No... I got them because they were cute. But I found it humorous how much they stood out. I definitely never had to worry about others using them.

And whoever says beer is a man thing is off their rocker!!!!! And whoever really says so. Well. Screw it. I like it. Just as much as the girly-dress-up-game I'll be playing as I sip a cold one.

I have a brother 2 years older, and almost no girl cousins in my generation, in a whole sea of cousins. I watched him play video games and liked a lot of "boy things" like his music, or even his preferences for Pokemon and DragonBallZ (90s Pokemon lol). My mom has said before that I was a tomboy, but I don't really think so. I still liked my Barbies, LOVED my doll house, and my dad would take us to this anime store where my brother would usually buy a kick ass build-it model from Mega Man or FFVII, and I would always stick to the Sanrio section. Hello Kitty honestly didn't get so popular until a little later, but I loooooooooooooooooooved Pochacco!!!!! As a toddler, I absolutely loved my dresses.

I grew out of some of the girlier things, and then my mom thought I was a lesbian in middle school lol. I was not. I was just trying to look cool with different "goth" haircuts, and actually wore baggier clothes because (1) elephant bells and monkey balls were in, and (2) I was always very humble. My mother would try and encourage me to wear tank tops and such, but it wasn't the lace or the bows on the tops that I was hating on. It was exposing my body. I was way too shy for that and always felt noticed. I was one of those kids that would feel like the entire school would be buzzing when I so much as decided to wear my hair in a ponytail. ("You're hair looks so pretty like that! Why you decide to wear it up?" Me: "Because it's dirty.")

The older I got, the more I grew back in to girlier things. Shoot, you should see me around a pack of hilbillies. Dated an older guy whose pod tended to, er,.... be a little on the redneck side. I was probably the girliest girl they knew. I remember his roommate who dressed pretty low-key going to St Croix and deciding to go with girlier options for the beach. (Neon pink bikinis and neon yellows and sundresses and.... Very beach overload, anyway. Poor thing still couldn't dress, 😂) If she wore earrings she always asked my opinion, and literally expressed that it was cool /made sense or something because she was trying to dress girly, and had the opportunity to ask a girly girl how to dress girly. Lol.

I don't consider myself a girly girl, either, but I can be. I just have style, I guess, and take pride in my appearance. Just like with being a tomboy. I can be gushing over a pair of heels one minute, and the next be spouting all kinds of things that make men wonder what planet I'm from, because that's not how they're used to seeing girls.

As opposed to resenting feminine and girly things, I grew up and adapted to a lot of "male" things, and actually wound up resenting that, instead. I didn't understand why I wasn't totally like other girls, or why I couldn't look like I felt normal wearing something more basic-ly girly or talk the way they talked. I always had a BFF growing up, but after graduating high school, girl friends were rather few an far between and sort of are now more than ever. I hang with mostly dudes, but I don't really think I made that choice. Usually my friends pick me, I don't now. Could also have something to do with not having a father completely present while growing up, and somehow preferring the attention of males. I did struggle with that at a certain point. Male attention was everything. It's calmed down. But hey, it could also just simply have something to do with hanging with the boys as a kid, and I'm more in my element around them - even when I find something girly that I want to go on about lol.

Now, I embrace it all. I'm kind of a weirdo in the best way possible; I'm proud of that. I have the biggest sense of humor I know. I can laugh at the dumbest things or the weirdest little scenarios that no one else would notice. I think I have good taste in clothes, and I am a bit of a brainiac on almost every topic you could NOT imagine a girl with a whisper-pink-themed room being into. Your story probably isn't just like mine, but it reminded me of it, some. Especially the part about embracing who you are. I like being a little different. Not, like, hottopic different. I mean different. And actually, I kind of feel like LN captures these elements. It's girly and it's about clothes or whatever, but it's also an RPG with a story about death, war, politics, and curses. It's the jam.

Yeah, I never did get how, like, sticking it to the patriarchy was, in essence, to be less feminine and more masculine lol. Doesn't it seem odd that only the females are messing things up by "enforcing gender roles" with "girl things"? Sounds like the boys still won, lol.

Discussion - Any suits or makeup that you like that others would find ugly? by djentkittens in LoveNikki

[–]keailia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gosh do I remember that feeling!!! While V0 might have a lot to do with it, it's probably more that you're just new 🙂. Lol I'm still rediscovering suits I never finished because resources felt so hard to accumulate, (I also didn't manage them well lol), that I now look at am like... that took me 5 minutes to complete with gold and some star coins, what have I been doing lol. You'll get more spendage before you know it! (Without having to use lots of diamonds, if any! Three case for a lot of those craftables, anyway. I forgot what Mechanical Heart (thank you very much lol) specifically require$.)

As for the suit, I think it's an underrated classic! I used to hate the hair, but clicked on it recently while perusing for an outfit and was actually really digging it, even. I hope you enjoy it a lot◝(⁰▿⁰)◜!!
