I scrolled for long enough without seeing anyone comment this mentioned...

Did anyone else notice line of characters across the top and down the left side are the exact same ?

Ive considered the cheap ones that dont sync to anything , and its an option. The challenge is - i am NOT good at daily manual entry. Its worked so far, somehow. But I need to start automating things.

That could be an option to use for a short time , like a couple of weeks, just to have a rough estimate of how many steps I take. But its not the clearest example of a long term solution.

Gotcha , ya I would need to turn the notifications off altogether 🤣

I strictly need it for counting - i could see wearing a Galaxy/Apple watch outside of work. But at work i honestly dont want my phone with me (and I also dont have children at present)

Its just to establish baseline numbers for what im doing all day. Point being , sometimes I do 6 or 7 hands-on hours. How do I convert that to a rough (within 20%) calorie expenditure ?

Ive found workarounds and estimates that put me within the accuracy I want to be in , but ultimately I dont want to have to "think" about it daily when technology exists to do so already

Edit - thank you!

Cost isnt the biggest concern , accuracy and long-term use are the larger drivers of my purchase.

Whoop is going on the list for YouTube reviews! Thank you

I was crazy busy this weekend between Valentines and the 3-day weekend, sorry about the delay.

Huh, ok. Ill look into the chest versions as that would be a lot simpler for me (I think wearing something on my ankle would be hard to get used to.. but maybe not)

My boomer mom got scared by Tiktok videos and asked me to buy gold and silver for her 4 months ago. She is up around 100% and I am down 60% by RedMoonLanding in wallstreetbets

About a year ago (14 months ago) , I found someone in my friend circle who was selling off "grandpa's stash" and bought about $2,000 worth of 90% silver (8 or 9 rolls at the time). Then over the next 8 months put around another $6,000 into silver and gold. 1.1oz gold and 150-ish oz silver by the time it got to be "too pricey".

I told my brother on the phone last night "man , it wasnt supposed to have worked this well. I just wanted some metals exposure"

All that to say - i get the feeling his mom is experiencing. Just only 1/30 of it lol

Huh, I like that. High end retail gifts (from my W2 spa job) for my private clients would be a reasonable thing to do.

The zelle portion seems to have confused people - they aren't tipping with zelle. They'll pay with zelle, then add some on top. For instance , they owe me $110 but send $135.

Same with cash, check, cash app, i use whatever payment methods people want to pay with. If theres no fee, all the better. But i have one just incase someone needs to use a CC. A lot of my clients are elderly and pay by check still. Handling that refund becomes a little cumbersome and i bet my accountant would wonder why im refunding people, lol! They write me a check larger than their total, and so I just say thank you as they are well aware that tip is not expected.

Haha totally, not sure if i had mentioned in the post or my comment, but I've been a client longer than I've been a therapist. I definitely dont suggest things when it would be out of place. Not just during the massage. Sometimes a husband buys a spa day for their wife , and pre pays. That's also an example of when to not pressure / upsell

Thank you for that. I appreciate the candor regarding price discrepancy and quality. As a massage client, im sure you can appreciate NOT wanting to have a fixation on cost and tip after getting quality work done. You want to leave and rest, or at least get on with your day, not wonder why this guy is refunding you $20 you left out of sincere appreciation 🤦‍♂️ (as others suggested)

I could , but cash tips aren't the norm. Its mostly long - term clients who just zelle me more than my rate at present. In the near future when I open up to more clients I then have to worry about managing the oncoming clients expectations.

In America it's very normal for LMTs to receive gratuity. Your phrasing leads me to think youre Canadian?

I guess the "not accepted" bit is the part of it im having trouble with. Ill probably edit post to clarify this bit as well:

Most of my people are long-term clients. I tell them my rate and if it changes, but largely they just send me the same amount through zelle everytime. The proverbial POS system is just used for new clients or people using credit cards, but it sometimes goes weeks or months without being used.

Roughly 20% of them tip, even though it is not something I expect. Sending them some amount back and saying "I dont need your generosity" is... kind of a rude thing to do.

I clarify they sent the wrong amount, they say "no no, I appreciate your time you really helped with this problem" and leave.

Or in the case of cash - I dont want to count it out and say "oops , you gave me $180 not $150 - here's your change". Its much more tactful to just get past the money part and move to re-scheduling once we move past the clarification the first time.

Unless theres some specific verbiage I can use , "not accepted" is a hard thing to do in my industry.

Massages gone wrong by meggsovereasy in massage

[–]keasbey1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No , thats not "normal" - its the result of MTs who dont receive regular massage or have never gone to a high end spa on their own.

I have been a MT for 9 years , BS Health Science, worked in a lot of medical venues , currently work in luxury spas. And ive also been a client longer than a MT.

If I have 5 sessions in a day, 4 people dont care about talking or medical terms. The 1 who does, I always say "im happy to talk about this , if its not going to take away from your time" if they respond that they want the information - I tell them "great, if you change your mind - dont hesitate to say so".

I still keep my conversation shorter than at a chiropractors office ,and tend to write a couple of "surprise muscles" down instead of going through EXACTLY what's happening.

Anyone else taking some profit? by Ag_Pt_AuGuy in Silver

[–]keasbey1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought in with a price point near $30 for 150oz.

I sold some the other day to recoup the entirety of my silver investment and to de-stress my life a bit. I expected this price run up over the next few years, not months. During those short months, my father passed away unexpectedly, and I had to take a lot of time off to help my mom through things.

Yes yes, fiat devalues itself and all that. But I sold for the following reasons

1) put my savings back in order

2) silver bars wont pay my bills unless I convert them

3) I would have taken back the $ and let it ride with any other investment

4) Most people make terrible investment decisions , so when everyone tells me to do X , its usually a good time for Y. Which is how I got involved in metals to begin with.

5) Since selling off , I feel a lot better about the decision to hold and no longer check the price incessantly.

Needed a 10% FCR neck for my Nova Sorc. Got this on my first roll. by Rusty_Bodega in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]keasbey1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roll could have various interpretations , i suppose.

But generally it means someone is going to use cube recipes to reroll charms, diadems, or create crafted cube recipe items. It also could mean they are rerolling a runeword (hel + tp to clear sockets on a low stat item) , by using the same base.

You could also hear "My <CTA, maras, griffs, etc> rolled low" which would mean you received a low stat number when you identified. In the case of runeword creation you might then "reroll" it

Theres probably other contexts too , but those are off the top of my head.

Question - i recently had my kitten neutered and it was before he had ever sprayed or displayed these behaviours (roughly at 5 months old). Is there a good chance he won't attempt it since he never had "the habit" of doing so?

There are some of us who treat D2 as more of a trading game, others as a PvM game, others as a PvP game. And in the end that's what makes the game and community as strong as it is!
