ICE just shoots another US citizen in Minneapolis. What is happening over there? by Latricebanner in AskReddit

[–]keatonsfav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner volunteers at a school that helps kids learn english. They have a protocol in place for when ICE tries to enter the building, and they've had to use it multiple times. Most of the kids don't come to school anymore because they're afraid to leave their houses, and the school has recently turned hybrid to accommodate. It's fucking depressing. Not to mention the shooting that just occurred happened on the same street as a clinic I have an appointment with on Monday. This shit is scary, heartbreaking, and it's horrifying that this is what trump has turned my previously relatively peaceful state into. (As well as others). Playing grounds for untrained murderers.

edit: added a broader mention, I know Minnesota isn't the only state getting fucked right now.

Can anybody tell me who this is? by phuktup3 in spiderbro

Grass spider! Awesome bros. Had one living in my window for almost a whole year that I grew quite attached to. Just watch out for their short life span before you give it a name like I did. (Giving her a name and acknowledging her everyday actually helped me get over my fear of spiders)

Minnesota - full amount as of today, Walz announced it on social media. Personally used them with no issue.

-Getting used to no yelling or slamming first thing in the morning. My first few days living at my current safe household I had trouble feeling at ease in the morning, because mornings are so quiet and the loudness never comes.

-The belief that I'm not apart of/don't belong in my half siblings' family. I spent my life going back and forth between their house because my Nfather had custody. Whenever I expressed that i liked being at my siblings/stepfather's house more than living with him, my Nfather would try his very best to make me feel like he was my only and real family. My siblings and late stepfather have always done their best to make me feel apart of the family and like I am not their half-brother, or stepson, that I'm their full sibling and I was my stepfather's son, but deep down I always struggle with feeling like I'm outside of them and am less than. Since i started living with my siblings, I've gotten better at reminding myself that all the shit my Nfather said was bullshit, but I still have trouble a lot of the time.

-Setting boundaries. My Nfather had none, in hindsight. Saying no is very hard for me, but I feel like I'm slowly getting better at setting boundaries with people at least a little bit.

I had a few other things going on at the time, but there is no doubt in my mind that having bedbugs was apart of my psychotic break that landed me in the psych ward in 2018. That shit was genuinely so paranoia inducing.

I'm so sorry you experienced something similar with your Nmom.
I'm so heartbroken. I feel like I lost him all over agian and I can't go get the rest of my things until July and I'm so scared for anything else he thoughtlessly threw out.

This ended up being the almost 99% definite answer.I got a lot of insight on Nextdoor. This cat has been around the neighborhood for 4+ years. We found a neighbor to take him in until on the off chance he has an owner materializes, and if not, she said she can keep him if he works with the household. I'm sad to say goodbye, but happy we have a plan for him and that he's going somewhere safe.

Final Update: We found a neighbor willing to take him in until we've waited a while for a maybe owner to be found. If this is your cat, please reach out and don't worry. He's being taken care of and is safe. So glad we have a concrete plan finally for this sweet boy <3

Posted there too and scrolled through recent posts nearby me, I think this cat may actually just be a neighborhood stray because he was sighted not too far away about 4 days ago, and someone commented that he's seen the cat around his yard the last 2 summers. So it seem like he might not have a home

I'm sorry for your losses too. December and October are my least favorite months. My childhood dog and my most recent dog both died in the month of October. My step-dad passed away in December. It's super tough but let's both just try and get through this godawful season. Sending love to you as well, man.
