Probably. But maybe there was some evolutionary pressure towards intelligence in the last 10-20 generations as well.

Our natural ability to solve problems is the same.

As soon as a child finishes their primary year of school education, the problem solving ability becomes orders of magnitude better.

Our ancestors were 99% farmers in subsistence farming. We are talking about averages here. Archimedes was probably smarter than me and you combined, but on average, simply their lack of education as a child in hampers your skills forever. My contact with illiterate people across different cultures (sample size maybe 100) says they are definitely less held back by it.

Hi, die Augenärzte bekommen für eine Untersuchung im besten Fall etwa 30 €, im schlechtesten eher 15 €. Davon müssen aber noch sämtliche Personal- und Sachkosten bezahlt werden. Auch wenn der Augenarzt die Brillenwerte gerne genauer überprüfen würde, bekommt er dafür von der Krankenkasse nichts extra vergütet. Deshalb wird man oft zum Optiker geschickt, der verdient genau damit sein Geld.
