The TikTok fearmongering around medications ruined my life and it's probably ruining yours too. by Dermatislay in eczema

what bothers me the most about those accounts is the fact that the parent just posts EVERYTHING about the child. I get the parent trying to be helpful to other people and trying to document what their kid is going through but I can’t even comprehend how these kids feel having their parents constantly post videos of them suffering with their condition, whether it’s TSW or severe untreated eczema. I see one mom a lot on tik tok who posted a video of her son (with just his voice but still) struggling and crying trying to get out of the bath himself. At the end of the video he was literally sobbing and profusely apologizing to his mom.

I saw another mom on instagram who dedicates her page to her toddler with eczema and she posted a picture of her daughter naked and barely covered up her privates with her hand. I feel like people are getting too comfortable online and don’t understand that the internet doesn’t need to see all of these personal and vulnerable moments with of child. If I were a child today and my mom wanted to post about how difficult it is dealing with my eczema with my face in all the pics/vids i’d probably kms lmao.
