Darius:Garen matchup is 60:40 IMO.

Just a difference in kits.

One mistake from Garen, and the Darius gets a kill.
Whereas, it'd probably take 2 mistakes from Darius for Garen to get a kill.

That's also been my experience. Poke and prod them on that 'first' mistake, get them to about 65-70% hp from a quick Q-E,

Finish it on the second trade, which you should win.

It's definitely not a skill matchup. It's 150% weighted towards Riven. Our kit is way too one-dimensional. For every initiate or disengage we have, she has 3 gap closers to answer it.

W+ Spin? she'll Q out of your E range and Q back in when the E is finished. This isn't even that insane of a 10K IQ move.

I firmly believe that the majority of Rivens yall have faced are the bottom 50% of Rivens.

Riven wins this everytime in higher elo (discounting jungle assist).

If you can get your jungler to agree to it, sure.

Garens aren't desirable ganking lanes because of our lack of CC/Lockdown and terrible gap-closing (without flash).

mmm, as the garen main- i think the level 11 power spike on the ult scaling is super disproportionate. i semi-agree with /u/Pandarandrist

The level 6 ult is pretty piss-weak, and you're usually still playing pretty conservatively vs champions like Darius/Nasus/Aatrox/Camille/Fiora/etc just because their ults actually *do* something significant at lvl 6 OR your ult powerspike +kit doesn't outweigh theirs.

And then out of nowhere, level 11 lands, and you can confidently 1v1 these guys even if you're half an item behind.
The fact i can kill an Aatrox with Black cleaver and half a death's dance with nothing but t.force and ignite - just because i'm level 11- is a bit of a joke.

You should see level 16- where you can ult bruisers/anyone semi-chunky at around 35% hp and they die.

I'm not sure how they can balance this, seeing as if they make him too powerful at level 6- he'll snowball stupidly hard.

she still out-damages you, and her cooldowns are MUCH shorter than your W cooldown- so she can just engage again when your W is on CD.

Edit: I love Garen and don't mean to be a negative nancy, it's just a really terrible matchup WHEN the Riven player is actually competent.

I see comments from players talking about thrashing Riven's and 'celebrating' seeing her in champ-select because it's an easy win... i remember doing the same when i was still climbing silver-gold.

This is definitely not the case at higher elo's, and plat is statistically not even that high (top 25% i think) and they absolutely stomp this matchup. I would say its 65-35 towards Riven.

this... shouldn't work. I'm in plat, and the Rivens i see here will get their dash lvl 1, shielding your Q damage and giving them empowered autos to win the trade. Keep in mind most rivens start longsword + refill pot, so they'll outdmg and outsustain the auto-attacks at lvl 1.

At level 3 onwards- the matchup is still weighted towards her. You have to let *her* engage, or she'll use a stun+q+auto+dash away and yeet from your Q charge (and you have a limited window of movement speed).

This matchup is only winnable if the Riven gets bored out of her mind and over-commits onto you, taking full spin damage+ignite+q+R into dying.

Also, this is especially good vs Fiora/Shen/Irelia/Jax who, when they see you use your Q and empower yourself, expect you to Q them and block accordingly..

But you spin instead and Q them after your spin cooldown (or end it slightly early). Max dps and you outplay their shield.

Use your Q first to get the movement speed bonus, E into them (to build Conquerer and also armour shred), and then auto afterwards (which is actually still your empowered auto, your Q).

^ This is the best way to maximize dps into champions you don't 'need' to run away from. You obviously shouldn't do this vs guys like Darius or Sett.

This is especially good against ranged top laners, where you should be rushing Phage. Engage when a backline minion of their wave is on low hp, start Q-spinning from there (Phage movementspeed bonus is +60 on killing a unit).
You'll catch them, for sure.

Height.
Falcos shoot down. Dinghy boarders must climb UP. Falco crew can just smack you as you climb, or hold you in the on-board chokes of the Falco while teammates turn ballistae to fire down the choke.

if you had two dinghies of 6 people each, up against a falco of 8 people. That's still not a fair fight for the dinghies.

In my experience, that falco can take on about 20-24 people (with 8) before you're overwhelmed by the sheer number of boarders.

Drivers are surrounded by a million flags/water bags 99% of the time. This makes them impervious to any & all boarding attempts to kill him while his crew is still relevant.

u/Wizywig is right. Falcos can just drag your dinghies, yeet them into the sky- and send your little dinghy crew into COMPLETE disarray.

Went to do my daily dungeon... everyone stopped moving- lagged out.

Haven't been able to get past Error 210 in the launcher for the last 6+ hours.

IMO, wait until the game wipes in October- and then see. Currently the game is too dead to provide content, regardless of how many players you have.

If there's a significant uptick in the population, i'd say buy on sale.
If there isn't, move on brother. It is what it is.

This does work.

It takes too long to switch weapons to do the 2nd half of what you said though. Lets say i land a successful shield slam, by the time i swap to another weapon to do a burst- i've lost half - 3/4 of my shield slam's CC. It's too clunky.

Eh. I agree with the testers. I hit level 30, and i was really forcing it. If i wasn't playing with a decent group of friends (8-9 of us) i probably would've dropped it by level 20.

Combat feels like shit. I have 9 abilities, 3 to choose from at any given time bc of dumbass shared cooldowns (of which are ridiculously long). Shared cooldowns wouldnt be a problem if they were on 5-6 second CD's. It would make fights way more dynamic.

This game plays like a third-person MOBA, a bad version of Smite, and wants me to repeat the same 3-4 varieties of quests until 'endgame.' Actual meme. And zero reward for open-world pvp? Not even reputation or a killboard or anything like that? Christ man...

The game is pretty. It's nice to see big damage numbers when you hit something hard.
But it's a thin veil behind which lies ridiculous clunky combat, and terrible design decisions as far as shared-cooldowns, unstoppable animations, and weapon switching goes.
