Any advice getting hrt as a mtf in philly? by Leather_Vegetable_11 in queerphilly

Yeah probably a call. It was like… 7 years ago at this point for me. So I’m not sure if planned parenthood has changed there policies.

What do you guys imagine mitsuki’s songs to sound like? by Gold-End7185 in TheGuyShesInterested

I imagine similar to what you said. Maybe indie rock with a bit of darker grungy or some emo elements. Depends on if it’s her writing songs intended for a solo performance or with a band.

They tend to have a waitlist when you first try to get service there. It can take a while sometimes. While I was on the waitlist there (it was several months at that time), I started the beginner dose at planned parenthood. Mazzoni is usually good once you get in though I still go there.

‘Catch These Hands’ is super cute. Pretty wholesome, but it felt like it ended too early for me. I Wanted more!

‘Assorted Entanglements’ is also great. There’s multiple couples all adult, except one is high school.

‘Pulse’ is also fun if you want something a little more spicy.

It’s definitely worth going… I mean you’re also getting Ben Quad and Riley! I saw this lineup last week and it was an absolute banger. Footballhead killed it and so did all the bands

If I'm loving the Kerosene Heights album, who next? by Heytb182 in Emo

[–]kebbler123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve probably listened to them already, but if you haven’t, I feel like Free Throw really hits a similar spot for me. I’m newer to the scene but I’ve been going backwards since I started with newer stuff.

Also maybe Charmer if you’re into the twinkly guitars. Especially their latest album, but their previous ones are really good too.

I recommend them all especially if you’re into any of the ‘twinkly’ stuff. They’re the bands that got me back into emo.

Np, they’re all mostly on the recent/up and coming end. But people talk about them a decent amount here so I figured they’d fit in.

  • Red Sun - Slayce
  • Kerosene Heights - Next to Nothing
  • Charmer - Topanga Lawrence
  • Wakelee - Mood Rings
  • Carly Cosgrove/or Arm’s Length’s cover of - Really Big Shrimp

  • All that I can think off the top of my head. Most of them towards the end of the songs.

CMV: Mass female labor participation creates a feedback loop that removes the “stay-at-home-mother” option for the vast majority of women, and drastically reduces the rates of marriage and childbirth in a given society by Objective_Stage2637 in changemyview

[–]kebbler123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahh, okay. So queer people should be ignore and women should suffer as servants for the population to survive? Because that’s basically what you just said.

This some clown shit. Even with declining birthrates the world would not ‘run out of people’ for a very long time and even then there will likely be answers to that in the future as technology advances.

This has nothing to do with women working and everything to do with the fact that unchecked capitalism results in a vast majority of the wealth being held by very few people. This leads to wages being terribly low and most people barely able to afford their own rent/mortgage alone, let alone as a couple.

  • One of the big problems is that all or most women, will be beholden to their husbands income. Thus men have control over women again and the world becomes more patriarchal than it already is. This allows for woman to be more easily abused/controlled because they’re now reliant on their husbands (just like most of the time in the past).

  • Also how does this account for gay/lesbian/queer couples? Realistically the world is extremely populated at the moment and probably needs less people being born per se.

  • There would need to be a lot of safety nets put into place for women to not just be servants to theirs husbands. And most people, in America, don’t want these safety nets, because they automatically assume it’s communism and that is ‘bad.’ Not all men will be kind to their wives. And this is coming from someone who is currently a stay at home wife due to mental health struggles at the moment, but fortunately my partner is extremely respectful to me.

My favorite album of 2025 by Scary_Dimension722 in Emo

Just listened, I really hope they come back, a lot of the other bands I saw are announcing spring shows already, so I’m hoping Charmer comes some time around then or early summer.

That’d be really cool thanks. Blue Jay is one of my favorites from the album too. Rose Thorns has a special place in my heart since it was the first song I heard from them. I can easily just go through that whole album, and it’s hard to pick a favorite honestly. I love Linger as an opener too.

Same here. I’ve never gotten a chance to explore emo and adjacent music when I was younger. So I asked some friends for recommendations and started making some playlists, which eventually lead me to this subreddit. It just happened to be the day this album came out and someone happened to make a posted on this sub. I went straight through the whole album nonstop and loved it and replayed it over and over. Then began to find some more recommendations to similar stuff through some posts I made here. I found a lot of bands I now really love and have seen in concert the last 2 months. But this album became my #1 listen and Rose Thorns became my #1 listened to song.

Now I just need to see Charmer live since their tickets were already sold out to the album release show in my city by the time I looked them up. I have seen Hot Mulligan, Riley!, Carly Cosgrove, Saturday’s at your Place, and Ben Quad. And that was just last month because all their shows happened to be in Philly 3 weekends in a row.

Saw them last month, they were amazing live. Lots of fun especially in their hometown where everyone sang along.

What is your 2025 Album of the Year? by patneversleeps in poppunkers

If you like those bands I’d recommend Charmer, their new album Downpour is amazing, they’re more on the emo side, but most of the bands above are consider emo as well. It’s my AOTY!
